Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Reborn, who would still work for others?

June 8, 2015, Monday, 2:30 PM.

In the trading room of Huaxi Capital in the Magic City, numerous traders suddenly stood up from their seats.

Everyone gazed at the large screen in the trading room, which was continuously hitting new highs, with the Shanghai Composite Index already breaking through 5130 points, and the company's heavily weighted stock, 'Huaguo Zhongche', hitting its daily limit again.

For a moment, expressions of excitement and joy appeared on their faces.

Subsequently, as the Shanghai market's turnover once again exceeded one trillion, thunderous applause resounded throughout the entire trading room.

Amidst the applause, at a workstation near the entrance of the trading room.

A young man, approximately 180cm tall, in his twenties, wearing a suit, with an employee badge on his chest, and a rather handsome face, did not applaud with everyone else.

His eyes were deep, and he also gazed at the large screen in the trading room, his eyes perfectly calm.

It seemed as if all the market changes at this moment were already within his expectations.

"Identical market trends, a living and working environment completely consistent with my memories. It seems... I truly have been reborn."

He felt everything familiar around him, and the initially uneasy speculation in his heart over the past few days now became firm.

"I never thought I could return to this moment ten years ago."

He understood that everything currently was real.

In an instant, countless past memories and scenes flashed through his mind, like a movie accelerated a thousandfold.

Those things that had once caused him pain, regret, and remorse.

He understood that now... everything could start anew.

"How wonderful!"

After a brief moment of contemplation, he suppressed the wild joy in his heart, his gaze once again turning to the Shanghai Composite Index, which was still continuously breaking through on the large screen in the trading room, and he sighed,

"The Shanghai Composite Index at 5100 points, who would have thought this would be the highest point for the Shanghai Composite Index in the next ten years?"

"Su Yi, come here for a moment."

After the applause subsided, before he could sit down, a resonant voice suddenly appeared behind him.

Su Yi turned around and saw the trading department manager standing at the door, waving to him.

Immediately, before he could react, the other party turned and walked into the office next door alone.

He hesitated for a moment, then turned and followed the other's steps.

Arriving at the office next door.

The manager took a contract from his desk drawer, handed it to him with a smile, and said,

"Your six-month internship has been excellent, and you've also passed the company's trader assessment. Congratulations, from this moment on, you are an official trader in our Huaxi Capital trading department."

Su Yi took the contract and glanced at it, then, without hesitation, handed it back to the other party and said,

"Thank you, Manager Fang, for your care over the past six months, and thank you to the company for nurturing me during this time. I was very happy working here, but I already have some new plans, so I can only accept Manager Fang's kind offer in my heart."

"You're leaving?"

Manager Fang was stunned, and it took him a while to come back to his senses.

Su Yi nodded and replied,

"Originally, I was very eager to get this official employment contract, but now, I want to work for myself."

"Alright, since you've made up your mind, I respect your choice."

Manager Fang's expression returned to normal in a moment, and he extended his hand to Su Yi again, saying,

"I wish you good luck in the future!"

Although he was somewhat surprised by Su Yi's choice, he did not try to persuade him to stay.

After all, many employees wanted to join the company's trading department, and he could continue to select and hire from other interns to fill Su Yi's vacancy at any time.

"Thank you!" Su Yi shook the other's hand, then left the office.

At 3 PM, the market closed.

Su Yi sorted out his belongings on his desk while handing over his work to other colleagues.

Then, at 5 PM, when it was officially time to leave work, he left Huaxi Capital, where he had worked for six years before his rebirth, without any regrets.

Of course, regarding his departure.

Almost everyone in the Huaxi Capital trading department.

Believed that he had not passed the company's internal trader assessment, and no one imagined that he had voluntarily given up the job.

Walking out of the commercial building where the company was located, Su Yi looked around at the bustling and noisy financial district, a brilliant smile on his face, and boarded a bus back to his suburban residence.

When he used to go to work, he rarely took the bus because he felt it was a waste of time.

But now, free from work worries, he was not in a hurry.

After getting on the bus, Su Yi found a window seat.

Outside, the sunlight poured down, as if blanketing the entire city in a golden coat.

"Lao Zhang, your stock hit its daily limit again today, didn't it?"

"Not quite, but it rose a lot."

"'Huaguo Zhongche' resumed trading with a straight daily limit, did you see? I said early on that this stock would continue to rise."

"How much did you buy? You even invested a portion of your pension into it."

As more and more people boarded the bus, the sounds around Su Yi became increasingly noisy.

Amidst the clamor, regardless of gender or age, most of the conversations were about stocks.

The two retired old men in front of him were exchanging stock trading experiences.

The two office workers behind him, roughly his age, were also discussing stock trading.

"A friend of mine hit a 'Baofeng Technology' stock, guess how much he earned?"

"How much?"

"An investment of 4,000 yuan earned him 260,000 yuan. 'Baofeng Technology' even hit its daily limit today, rising from its IPO price of 8 yuan to 266 yuan now, more than 30 times over."

"Damn, an investment of 4,000 yuan earning 260,000 yuan, that's incredible."

"Exactly! It's a pity I only entered the market when the Shanghai Composite Index was at 4000 points, missing out on a lot of previous market rallies. But now, my daily stock earnings can basically exceed a month's salary."

"I only entered the market last week. You said 'Baofeng Technology' is so good, can I still buy it?"

Enveloped by these voices, Su Yi's gaze involuntarily turned back from the window.

He looked around at these people, seeing excitement brimming in their expressions, and couldn't help but secretly lament,

"Market trends always sprout from despair, rise from doubt, peak in unanimous optimism, and perish in madness. The cycle of history, from the birth of the financial market until now, seems to have truly never changed!"

At this moment, besides him, no one else would clearly know.

The mighty bull market, which had lasted for over a year, was about to come to an abrupt halt here.

And with the end of the bull market, countless fortunes inflated by it would also turn to ashes, and many investors would experience a tragic destruction of wealth.

"But at this time..."

As Su Yi pondered, his eyes suddenly sharpened, and he thought,

"Taking the opportunity to short some stock index futures would be an excellent chance to get rich!"
