Chapter 2 - Freedom

Being alone for who knows how long, was incredibly boring and terrible.

At some point, he recreated illusions of wars, men fighting other men and even large scale battles from Ulthamrix. He wondered if his army ever conquered Vansia, but that was unlikely.

Without him, they had no protection and powers from the wrath of Innovation. And with Order's presence, it would only be reasonable they would lose.

He sighed. Well, that was one dumb way to go out. Always thinking about how he lost on that day, how he saw the reluctance and felt the pain of the person he loved.

Just as he was about to continue mumbling about other things, he saw a tiny crack on the wall. He blinked. Wait...

He blinked again, hoping that it wasn't an illusion that Innovation had set up.

He gasped, the cracks became wider and wider, light spilling inside as he could feel his essence leaking out. He could feel his connection back to the physical world weakly. He yanked his chains off, which, surprisingly was beginning to loosen.

His hope began to grow stronger, the cracks were spreading rapidly around it like vines.

'IM GOING TO BE FREE, FINALLY!' he thought.

With his other hand coming free from the chains, he punched the crack. The walls shattered, his mind expanded. His essence filled the Universe. He was no longer bound to the prison, and as the Lord of Gooners, he was ready. For round two.

And now with his freedom, he was back to taking over the Planet once again. No more. He wouldn't be tricked again, this time he'll play it out more safely.

And as he looked around. He expected an army, perhaps a hero or a lone human that freed him.

Except.

A group of humans and Ulthamors were gathered, wearing helmets and... Pickaxe? That couldn't be right.

Last he saw, Ulthamors were being subjected to mining, not humans.

"By the Cogs..." One of the humans said, "it's a Deity!"

His head snapped to the man to the side, he had a long beard and deep wrinkles. What sort of person works at a mine at that age?

He used his powers, appearing as a brown light mixing with gold in human form, his eyes shimmered and he looked at the old man.

"Why do you carry a pickaxe, and not the Ulthamors doing work?" He said, his voice booming in the area.

They were in a large open cave, the entrance showing the blue sky and the howling wind breezing upon them.

"Oh uhm," the old man dropped his pickaxe, picking it up back again, "we-were assigned to mine for diamonds for a wealthy family, sir."

Aronesis pondered, something's missing.

He looked to the other group, Ulthamors. Sharing the same expression of shock, wearing those heavy clothes and skin white as ever. Their eyes were ink-black, glittering sometimes under the light.

"It can't be... " One of them said, "it's the Humans former deity, the Lord of Goons."

Everyone turned to him, another wave of expression as the Ulthamors looked terrified now. The humans, however were curious and wondered how in the world their former Celestial managed to get trapped here. Much less, they haven't heard of him in a long time, and he was more like a legend now.

"You know me." Aronesis said, "how many years have passed, Ulthamor?"

The man stiffened upon being gazed by the very deity that tried to destroy them in the ancient times. Slowly, he mustered up the courage. Times were different now.

"Thirteen thousand years, ago." He said, "the... Celestial Order and Innovation won the defense, and have made a peace treaty with the humans since then."

Aronesis breathed in and out. They won. And judging by these groups, it was obvious the planet was in peace. He couldnt allow that.

"Well tell your Celestials, I have returned." He stalked towards the Ulthamors that began to step back, "and I will be sure to win the war this time. Tell them, my wrath will fall on this very planet, and I will not be lenient this time."

The Ulthamors scrambled, afraid as they hurried down the slopes of the mountain. The humans were scared, but he made sure they wouldn't leave as he summoned his scepter and looked them straight in the eyes.

"Where's the nearest human settlement?" He asked.

All of them looked towards each other and then at the old man back again. He sighed through his nose.

"Do you want us to guide you, Sir Goons?"

"Yes, but we won't be walking down." He slammed his scepter down, the ground began to tremble. The humans panicked and held on to something.

As everyone was terrified, Aronesis looked calm. The floor began to split, tiny rocks rumbled as it then separated with such force the humans stumbled on the ground.

"What is going on!" One of them said, there was three of them, "wait... Are we falling?"

Everyone looked terrified, they hurriedly tried to grab on to a rock.

Aronesis found it amusing. So many years have passed, it seems they have forgotten the Golems he had made to counter the creations of Innovation and Order.

The mountain, which was supposed to be mined. Began to move, Aronesis stood at the edge, holding the scepter in his hands like a cane as he stared into the green lands.

"Where's the direction, again?" He asked, not turning back.

"S-southeast sir." The old man quickly replied, he didn't dare stand up least he lose balance.

"Good, then we will get there in a few minutes."

Aronesis tapped the butt of his scepter on the floor, the entire perspective began to shift and turn to another direction. Each step rumbled, sending the humans into a fear. He cared not, they won't fall anyway.

The humans have probably became too lazy, became too comfortable under the rule of his enemies. Probably bootlicking them as their righteous Celestial. He could pass it up for Order, sure. But Innovation? Oh, he wanted to shatter her.

He had made a weapon with Ronix, their Revolution's leader to kill higher Celestials, hidden within his soul. And he will use it when the time came.

A bird landed on the floor, he looked at it. Then, it burst into red mist.

Feathers scattered and carried away by the wind as some blood smeared on the humans face. One of them couldn't hold it anymore and let go. Expecting to fall or pushed by the wind force.

He opened his eyes, it did not.

"This... This is amazing!" He said, beginning to smile, "the wind doesn't knock me back even though I can feel it."

Everyone looked at him, eventually they followed it and slowly stood up. Nothing pushed them back.

"This is the ability of a Golem," Aronesis turned to them, this time his figure forming into a gentle old man, a graceful smile touched his lips, "do they still have this? Or does Innovation and Order prohibit you from summoning such things?"

The old man sat on the ground, his pickaxe to the side. They were still getting used to him changing forms. As from their perspective, he looked like a normal human being now instead of a resplendent mixture of gold and brown.

"There are Giants being used to carry carriages or work loads, Sir Goons." The old miner replied. The others sat back down after a while as they were curious to listen, "but... Not as enormous as this."

"I suppose," he said, sitting on the floor with them, "That without these Giants, you won't be working easily. Look, you can easily mine that."

Their Celestial pointed to a gem, poking out that wasn't suppose to be seen earlier. They were on top of a mountain, moving. Separated from another mountain as they watched the other side of the mountain looked like it got carved out.

One of the humans carefully, made his way to the gem with legs wobbling as if he'd fall anytime.

Aronesis laughed, the human stopped as if something was wrong.

"No, no, go on. I just didn't think you would be so careful." Aronesis said.

"I won't... Fall or get myself off balance from, this.. uhm, Sir Goon?" The man hesitated.

It was probably getting awkward because of his name. He wondered what sort of subject or lessons Order and Innovation must have put up to make silly descriptions about him in their schools.

Though he doubted Order would actually do it, considering well.... A few things.

He tapped the scepter on the ground, the gem sprouted from the stone around it and rolled over to his feet. He picked it up, impressed by its quality. It was red, a Ruby that shines so bright when reflected from the sun.

"Your deityship..." The man with a square like face said, "this is an excellent quality!"

The other two quickly went up to check the Ruby, their eyes widening as they took turns in inspecting the shiny Ruby.

"How much will that earn you?" Aronesis asked.

"About three hundred or three-fifty gold coins, your holiness." The man said, eyeing it then back to him. This Celestial was giving out valuable stones for free, and they were riding a creature that supposedly only came from stories.

The Celestial smiled, raising his scepter again as he tapped the ground. Then, more gems, rubies, and diamonds of big quantities, surged up. The three men were shocked, they quickly snapped out of it and began picking the big ones and storing them in their baggy pockets.

Even after thousands of years have passed, the desire to live and earn money was still alive, burning in every single one of them.

Aronesis could feel it, from them. From ALL of them. every life in the universe, gooning at this very moment, trying to feel the sensation of ecstasy.

The Golem crossed rivers, hills and small villages as humans looked up with awe or fear. They've never seen such a creature with massive size as stated by the three men who were still gathering the earthly minerals.

In the distance, he could see a large city. Walls around it as banners on the side of the gate in white was nailed for everyone to see which Celestial ruled over here. There was a black circle and an eye in the middle. A banner he knew too well.

It was Order's. He winced at it.

"Is there any city," he said, turning to the men, "that's ruled by Innovation?"

"Your holiness?" Asked the squared face man as he stopped picking the rubies, "Oh you mean what city they rule? Innovation had given all the city to the Order, so most of Ulthamors and Humans have been under their rule for ten years."

"Most?" He raised a brow.

"Well... Not everyone liked it, some moved to planets to live where Innovation completely rules."

Aronesis blinked. The man continued picking rubies up as he scanned which ones were the biggest and which had higher quality.

'Where Innovation rules? so Order rules the planet entirely? That isn't right. Innovation doesn't give up her conquest, what is going on.' he thought, 'I thought hopping from one world to another was forbidden, because the War Celestial forbid it... I need answers.'

Now more than ever. Innovation never stopped her conquest, especially if it meant furthering her research. If she left Ulthamrix completely, it might mean whatever she did here might have been done already. Either she created a powerful weapon, or a terrifying discovery where she had to safeguard her own planets.

'I need to contact Ronix and others.'
