Chapter 3 - High above the clouds

High above, far above the clouds, where the sun kisses the rain, lies Rainbow Land.

This is where Lily and Max live with their parents – and, of course, their dog Bingo.

Their house is very special:

from the outside, it glows in every colour imaginable. The walls are as colourful as a rainbow and the roof is made of sparkling diamonds. When the sun shines on it, it sparkles so brightly that you can see it from far below.

The front door is made of gingerbread – with colourful sugar decorations, chocolate buttons and little candy hearts. When visitors come, the whole house smells like Christmas, even in summer.

The interior is even more magical:

our living room is like a large family room where there is always something going on. The walls are painted a soft sky blue – as if you were walking into a friendly summer sky. In the middle is a huge, cosy sofa that feels like a cloud. Colourful cushions are scattered everywhere, which we can use to build dens or simply snuggle up with.

There is a large rug in front of the sofa – so soft that our feet sink into it like warm moss. We often play with Andy there, read books or paint.

And then there is our special coffee table – it's almost like a magic table! On one side, it is soft and cosy, perfect for putting your feet up on. But when you press the little remote control, it whirs quietly – and presto! – the tabletop turns all by itself. On the other side, lots of colourful playing fields suddenly appear! You can play a different game in each corner: Ludo, Memory, chess, dominoes and even a little dice game. In seconds, the table becomes a playground for the whole family.

In the corner is our book corner – with a small shelf full of colourful books, a reading lamp and a cosy armchair that you can really snuggle into.

In the evenings, the living room becomes a mini cinema. We turn off the lights, get some popcorn and watch films on the screen on the wall. Andy lies between us, the sofa is covered in blankets, and everything feels warm and safe.

There's always something going on here – we laugh, play, tell stories or dance to the music coming softly from the speakers in the ceiling. Our living room is the heart of our home – a place where everything feels good and right.

The kitchen is the happiest room in the whole house! As soon as you open the door, you can smell the siblings' favourite dishes – Mum's pancakes with vanilla, Dad's spaghetti with tomato sauce and sometimes freshly baked apple pie.

The whole room is bright and warm, like a little ray of sunshine that never goes out.

The whole room is bright and warm, like a little ray of sunshine that never goes out.

The kitchen is so big that everyone can help together – even when Bingo stops by and sniffs curiously at the pantry. Colourful pots and pans hang on one wall, sounding like little bells when you touch them. A string of tiny stars lights up above the stove.

In the middle stands a huge dining table – so big that it can seat the whole family: Mum, Dad, Lily, Max, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Otto and even a place for Bingo on his blanket! The table is made of light-coloured wood and has a smooth surface that can even be used for painting or crafts when there's no food on it.

And best of all, when the food is ready, it doesn't just come out of the oven – it travels on a little cable car!

A tiny trolley with plates and bowls travels along the ceiling – clack-clack-clack – and then lands directly above the table. With a soft 'ding!', the trolley lowers and carefully places the warm food on the table. Every time, the children shout excitedly, 'The food has landed!'

But even tidying up is fun here: there are little silver buttons next to the microwave and even on the table itself. When you press them, the dirty dishes magically disappear back into the kitchen corner – on tiny conveyor belts hidden under the tabletop!

Then, of course, the siblings help load the dishwasher. They sort the colourful plates, tidy away the cutlery and listen to music playing softly from the speakers in the ceiling.

When everything is clean and shiny, Max and Lily sometimes sit back down at the table, drink hot cocoa and watch the stars twinkling outside. The kitchen is the heart of the house – it smells of love and laughter.

The bathroom is no ordinary bathroom – it's almost like a little water adventure land!

When you open the door, it smells of fresh mint and warm soap. The walls sparkle in bright turquoise, and colourful towels with little fish, starfish and rainbows on them hang everywhere.

In the middle is our huge bathtub swimming world! It's so big that Lily and Max can splash, dive and swim in it. A bright blue water slide leads straight into it – it starts next to the sink and winds its way into the bathtub like a wave. When you slide down, the water splashes into a thousand sparkling drops and it sounds like the ocean is laughing.

Next to the bathtub is a shower with a real waterfall! When you flip the silver lever, warm water splashes down on you like rain from a jungle – it feels like standing in the middle of a real waterfall.

The toilet is also very special – it has a large, green glowing button on the side. When you press it, it magically adjusts to the size of the person using it. Sometimes it gets smaller for Lily, sometimes bigger for Dad – so it's always perfect!

The sink looks like a long, shiny bathtub in miniature form. It has two silver taps – one for the children and one for Mummy and Daddy.

Small speakers are hidden in a large colourful cupboard that looks like a toy cupboard. Soft music or sometimes even an exciting audio play comes out of it. Then the siblings sit in the bathtub, listen to a story and blow soap bubbles that dance through the air like little rainbows.

When everyone is clean, happy and tired from splashing around, the whole bathroom smells of bubble bath and vanilla – and sometimes we don't want to leave because it feels like a little paradise of water, laughter and music.

And right next door is an extra dog bathroom, so that Bingo can be sparkling clean again after his adventures.

Upstairs in the house are the siblings' bedrooms. There are no stairs – if you want to go up, you have to climb! A large climbing frame leads upstairs and there is even a dog lift for Bingo, which whirs quietly.

Lily's room is all pink and sparks a little in the light. Small stars hang on the walls and glow in the night. In one corner is a large doll's house with tiny furniture and dolls that she dresses up every day.

Next to it is a cosy reading corner with lots of colourful cushions and a soft carpet where she likes to lie down and look at books.

Her bed is as soft as candyfloss and has a blanket with unicorns and rainbows on it.

On her dressing table are little jars of glitter and a brush with a pink bow. In a small dressing room hang lots of princess dresses – pink, blue and gold – and a large mirror in which Lily twirls and laughs when she dresses up.

Sometimes she plays there for hours with her dolls or reads stories to her cuddly toys.

Max's room is light blue like the sky on a summer's day. There are exciting things to discover everywhere!

In one corner is his music corner – there's a shiny piano, next to which his trumpet is waiting. A guitar with colourful stickers hangs on the wall, and on the table is a mixing desk with lots of flashing buttons. When Max sings, he picks up the microphone, turns the knobs and pretends he's on a big stage.

Right next to it is his comic book drawing station. There are lots of colourful pens, brushes and paper. He draws superheroes, dragons and sometimes himself as a rock star!

In the gaming corner is his favourite chair – soft and swivelling – and a screen on which he experiences exciting adventures with his friends.

Next to the window is his cosy reading nook, a small snuggle corner with fairy lights, a thick rug and lots of cushions. Max reads comics or listens to music there when he just wants to chill out.

His fitness corner is really cool: there's a punching bag, a few small dumbbells and even a mat for exercises. He sometimes trains there with Dad.

And Bingo? He doesn't sleep alone – he always snuggles up in bed between Max and Lily.

When you want to go back downstairs in the morning, you can take the big slide that leads directly into the living room – and Bingo barks happily every time he whizzes down it!
