Evelin's POV
The move caught everyone off guard.
Grey cried out in pain, his right hand dangling at a sickening angle.
"Jimmy!" Grace rushed to Grey's side, her voice sharp with fury. "Even if you're the notorious Mr. Hamilton that all of Bonnie City trembles before, you can't just do whatever you want!"
Especially not for me.
Jimmy's voice cut through the air like ice. "Take it up with my attorney. But anyone who lays a finger on Evelin will answer to me." He walked straight to me and scooped me up without warning.
My arm was hurt, not my legs, but he always insisted on this.
"I can manage on my own," I protested.
"I'm not taking any chances," he said simply.
I rolled my eyes. What exactly was he so worried about?
After giving quick orders to his men and the orphanage workers, Jimmy carried me outside.
Inside the car, Jimmy carefully pushed up my sleeve, his gaze locking onto the wound that was still bleeding. "How bad does it hurt?" His voice was barely above a whisper.
