A chill ran down my spine—like I'd suddenly become prey in a hunter's crosshairs.
"Huh?" Jimmy's voice carried that expectant lift, demanding an answer.
I nudged him back gently and placed my mug on the coffee table.
"Come on, we just started seeing each other. Don't you think marriage talk is rushing things?" I said.
But Jimmy's arms circled my waist before I could blink. His face hovered close to mine as he whispered, "You've never imagined marrying me?"
An aggressive edge crept into his tone, and those typically sharp, detached eyes now gleamed with dangerous allure—like a hunter showing off during the chase.
I swallowed hard, my throat suddenly dry.
Right now, Jimmy was magnetic and threatening all at once.
I saw the hunger mixed with affection in his stare.
Marriage, though? We'd moved from strangers to dating in no time, and I still barely knew who he really was.
