Chapter 1 - THIRTY DAYS SYNOPSIS AND INTRODUCTION

What was meant to be thirty days of freedom became thirty days of terror.

Sixteen friends board a private jet, chasing adventure, youth, and the thrill of being untouchable. But when the jet crashes in a remote forest and the pilots abandon them, their paradise turns into a nightmare. Lost, starving, and broken, they stumble upon an ancient, decaying mansion—a place that should have been their shelter, but instead becomes their prison. What secrets does this crumbling house hold, and why does it feel alive in the night?

Each day pushes them deeper into despair. Food runs short. Illness spreads. Trust fractures as hunger and fear tear them apart. Whispers echo through the halls at night. Something inhuman prowls in the shadows—watching, waiting. Is it real, or is the madness of starvation driving them insane?

And then the disappearances begin.

One by one, the forest takes them. Friends vanish without a sound. The survivors argue, betray, and claw for power, but no leader can save them from what lurks beyond the firelight. Who will rise as a savior, and who will reveal themselves as the true monster among them?

Yet the greatest horror is not the creature that hunts them, but the secrets each of them carried into the mansion. Love, envy, guilt, and greed—all become weapons in the fight to survive. When death comes knocking, will loyalty matter—or will betrayal be the only way out?

Fifteen entered. Five will leave.

If the mansion lets them.

🌑 Thirty days. Sixteen friends. One nightmare

🌌 30 (Thirty) Days

Introduction

It began as a journey of laughter. Sixteen friends, bound not just by school but by the bonds of youth and recklessness, boarded a sleek private jet on a warm Friday evening. The cabin buzzed with music, champagne, and the kind of confidence only the young and wealthy could carry.

At the heart of it was Lucas, the joker of the group, flashing his wide grin as he raised a glass. "To thirty days of freedom!" he shouted. He hadn't told them the full truth—that the jet was borrowed from his father's fleet, that he wanted this trip to prove he was more than the clown they thought he was. Rich, spoiled, and secretly insecure, Lucas was the spark of their adventure… and soon, their nightmare.

Across from him sat David, calm but watchful. His friends often turned to him in times of trouble, a natural leader with a protective streak. He was from a modest family, unlike most of the others, but that had shaped him into something stronger. His eyes strayed now and then toward Maya, the sharp-minded medic of the group. She was from a family of doctors, disciplined and focused, but her smile softened whenever David was near.

In the corner by the window, Aisha barely spoke, yet nothing escaped her quiet gaze. She noticed the way the stewardess's hand trembled when serving wine, the flicker of light on the control panel door when one of the pilots stepped out. She had grown up in a modest home, her mind sharpened by study and solitude, and though she rarely spoke, she often saw truths others missed.

Beside her was Chike, broad-shouldered and dependable, the one everyone leaned on when tension rose. His family was political and wealthy, but his kindness wasn't bought—it was born from loyalty. Tonight, he laughed quietly at one of Lucas's jokes, his arm protectively draped behind Ella, the youngest of the group. Sweet, sheltered, and hopelessly hopeful, Ella clung to Chike like a little sister clings to her protector.

Jonas, the loudest of them all, raised his glass higher than anyone. A college athlete with the body of a warrior and the recklessness of a child, he was the muscle, the party king, the one everyone followed into chaos. His girlfriend, Nina, leaned against him with soft adoration. She was beautiful, stylish, pampered, and hopelessly devoted to him. She believed his strength could outmatch anything fate could throw their way.

Not far from them sat Tariq, the thrill-seeker, tapping his foot to the beat of the music. Born into an oil-rich family, he thrived on risk, on doing what others were too afraid to try. He smirked at Ivy, who smirked right back. She was cunning, manipulative, her beauty as dangerous as her mind. She toyed with Tariq's heart not out of love, but out of the fun of it.

On the opposite side, Victor sipped his drink in silence. The strategist. Cold, calculating, always thinking three steps ahead. He had the money, the brains, the arrogance, and none of the warmth. He didn't care for the party, or the laughter—it was all a waste of time to him. To Victor, survival was for the strong, and love was just a weakness people invented to feel safe.

Naomi, gentle as a whisper, sat between them, her warm smile softening the room. Born into wealth but blessed with a tender heart, she studied nursing, always caring for others before herself. Yet beneath her kindness was fragility; guilt clung to her like a shadow, as though she carried the weight of everyone's happiness.

Ruth, on the other hand, carried her Bible close. The religious one, the moral compass, her faith was unshakable—or so it seemed. She often clashed with Lucas's irreverent jokes, reminding them all that fate was not theirs to toy with. But even faith, when shaken, can fracture.

Samuel sat hunched near the back, his eyes darting to the cockpit door, then to the windows, then back again. Paranoid, nervous, never trusting. His friends often laughed at his suspicions, but sometimes, Samuel saw the shadows before they arrived.

Next to him was Omar, nursing a quiet smile. A history student with maps tucked into his backpack, he was fascinated by old places and forgotten things. He wasn't the strongest, but his mind was sharp, and though he fit awkwardly among his wealthier friends, he had a heart that never stopped yearning to belong.

The sixteenth… the one they called simply the Wildcard, sat alone. Some said he was invited at the last moment, others that Lucas dragged him along without much explanation. He kept mostly to himself, watching, waiting, a mystery wrapped in the laughter of others.

Sixteen friends. Sixteen lives, glittering with wealth, love, ambition, and secrets. They did not know that by dawn, one of them would be gone. They did not know the jet would fail, the pilots would abandon them, and the forest would swallow them whole.

All they knew, in that golden hour of flight, was laughter, and the illusion that the world was still theirs.
