Chapter 9 - Celestial Dragon Shards: Exchange for Azure Dragon Form

"Hey!"

The moment Ivankov's Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon (Uo Uo no Mi, Seiryu) was snatched away by Linlin,

Kuma bit straight into the Paw-Paw Fruit.

Ginny cheered with joy.

"That's great, Kuma! Ivankov—we're saved!"

Damn it!

Linlin was furious—completely losing her composure.

She'd wanted that Devil Fruit too.

If Katakuri were to eat it, he'd become a terrifying powerhouse in the future!

"Too slow!"

Sharn smashed two treasure chests open with one hand—

but it was already too late.

Hundreds of slaves were hiding behind Kuma and the others.

"This place stinks of death."

Seeing the slaves and realizing she couldn't get the Paw-Paw Fruit,

Linlin decided to leave.

"Kaido!"

Determined to invest in Kaido's potential,

Linlin rushed off to find him.

Every Devil Fruit Sharn had spotted earlier was already eaten.

The Roger Pirates had taken two treasure chests as well.

But Sharn already knew what was inside them.

It was Shanks.

"Don't go near him! That guy killed a Celestial Dragon earlier!"

When people saw Sharn approach, they backed away in fear.

"You did great!"

Ginny gave him a big thumbs-up.

"He's with the Rocks Pirates—those guys are monsters!"

Ivankov burned Sharn's face into memory,

then shouted, "Kuma! Hurry up and use that power! We need to get out of here now!"

"I… I'm trying to figure it out!"

Kuma was slowly learning how to use the Paw-Paw Fruit's power.

While his body changed and his ability awakened,

Sharn realized that this war had already fallen into the hands of fate.

"Without the Paw-Paw Fruit or the Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon (Uo Uo no Mi, Seiryu)… what's the point of me even being here?"

[Ding!]

The Demon Compass spun,

its pointer shifting the course of fate.

The helm that could alter the world began to turn.

[Fate Singularity Detected — New Fate Choices Unlocked]

Choice 1: Fate cannot be changed. God Valley must fall. Let Kuma use the Paw-Paw Fruit to send you away.

Reward:Rokushiki Technique – Paper Drawing (Kami-e)

Choice 2: Execute 5 Celestial Dragons.

Reward: Rokushiki Technique – Geppo (Geppo)

Choice 3: Execute 38 Celestial Dragons.

Reward:Perfect Lineage Factor Fruit – Azure Dragon Form

"Three!"

How could there be no Devil Fruit? Not a chance!

Among the 19 families of the Celestial Dragons—

those who refused to settle in Mary Geoise, like the Alabasta line, were excluded.

Minus the God Knights, and the one Sharn had already killed—

that still left many nobles at God Valley participating in this "game."

To them, this was entertainment—

a festival of slaughtering civilians and slaves.

If there was prey to hunt,

then Sharn would hunt as well.

[Choice Confirmed.]

The contract is active. Once the mission is complete, the reward will be granted.

Sharn burst into motion.

The Celestial Dragons fled in terror,

Marines desperately blocking pirates while trying to protect their "gods."

The Rocks Pirates fought simultaneously against the Roger Pirates,

the God Knights, and Marine elites.

Standing atop a massive stone,

Sharn watched the chaos unfold.

"To me, every Celestial Dragon here… is a shard of the Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon (Uo Uo no Mi, Seiryu)."

Whoosh!

He flashed past Marine defenses,

his finger piercing a Celestial Dragon's heart.

One tried to flee toward the harbor—

but before his guards could react, he collapsed, dead on the spot.

Sharn vanished again, hunting the next.

The "Celestial Dragon Game" had turned into a Pirate's Game.

There was no way any of them would escape alive.

If they could, Shanks would never have been hidden in a treasure chest.

"Tempest Kick!"

"Shigan!"

"Electric Shock!"

Sharn's movements grew sharper with every kill,

his momentum surging as he tore through the harbor,

cutting down two Celestial Dragon guards in one strike.

"Just one shard left!"

He was almost there—

only a single Celestial Dragon remained.

The God Valley Incident would soon be erased from history.

The so-called "gods" were dying one after another—

each more pitiful than the last.

Would an admiral intervene to stop him for killing Celestial Dragons?

Don't be ridiculous.

At this time,

Zephyr was still two years away from becoming an admiral,

and Sengoku had only just been promoted!

Otherwise,

Fleet Admiral Kong wouldn't have urgently recalled Garp to the front.

The God Knights faced overwhelming foes on all sides.

Sharn had become the Celestial Dragon Slayer.

The Marines couldn't stop his advance—

and still had to battle the monstrous Rocks Pirates.

The game was over.

Now came Hell's Judgment.

The last Celestial Dragon shard was frantically crawling through the rubble.

But just then—

the Marines saw a glimmer of hope.

"Look! Vice Admiral Sengoku and Vice Admiral Zephyr are here!"

The battle had become so catastrophic

that Marine Headquarters had to deploy every available force.

Onlookers turned toward the ships—

and on the lead vessel stood Fleet Admiral Steel Bone Kong!

"What?! The Admiral and the Fleet Admiral himself!?"

The Celestial Dragon tripped,

scrambling up through the chaos.

But no one paid him any mind.

It was pointless.

The Rocks Pirates were the very monsters created by the Celestial Dragons—

their greed and cruelty had forged these demons.

Now, those same devils had returned to destroy them.

His oxygen bubble was shattered,

his ornate garments torn to rags,

his whole body covered in blood and filth—

barely human.

If he had a second chance,

he swore he'd never have come to this cursed game.

"Damn it! Damn it all! You fools all deserve to die!"

"I'm a noble Celestial Dragon! Why should I die here?!"

"Even if everyone else dies, a god like me should not!"

Saint George, the Celestial Dragon,

crawled toward the harbor,

praying for the approaching admirals to save him.

That was his final hope.

Because even the mighty Figarland Garling couldn't defeat Rocks!

The God Knights, though powerful,

were enemies of both the Rocks Pirates and the Roger Pirates.

"What's he saying? He's a Celestial Dragon?"

Ivankov shouted.

The slaves around them panicked instantly.

"What's a Celestial Dragon?"

"Don't let that kind of monster near us—it'll get us all killed!"

They looked down.

Saint George's face was smeared with tears and snot,

his appearance revolting.

"Get away from me, you filthy slaves!"

"The Admirals are almost here—you know what happens if you touch me?"

"You pigs!"

He staggered to his feet,

waving frantically toward the distant warships,

as if salvation were within reach.

"Kuma! Watch out for that guy!"

Ginny grabbed Kuma's arm,

afraid he'd get hurt by the Celestial Dragon.

"Watch out? No… kill him."

Sharn's voice came coldly from behind.

Saint George flinched in terror.

"You—you dare attack me?! Sengoku and Kong are on their way! You're dead!"

"Stay away from me, filthy pirate!"

He still had some arrogance facing Kuma and Ivankov,

but when Sharn appeared—

terror completely broke his mind.

Only fear and impotent rage remained.

"The shards are complete."

Sharn thrust his finger forward—

Shigan! combined with Tempest Kick and Soru!

Lightning crackled around his hand.

Three silhouettes rushed toward him—

too late.

"No! Don't kill me, you wretched commoner!"

Saint George's throat burst open in a spray of blood.

He collapsed, dead on the spot.

At that moment,

the Demon Compass spun once more—

and the new reward flooded into Sharn's body.

The Azure-Dragon Lineage-Factor splice (synthetic Zoan form) integrated into Sharn's body (not a Devil Fruit)

merged with his lineage factor—

a power more perfect than Vegapunk would create decades later!

The battlefield fell silent.

Ivankov, Kuma, and Ginny stood frozen.

They swore they'd remember Sharn's face for the rest of their lives.

Even amid total chaos,

killing a Celestial Dragon was beyond reckless—

when this war ended,

the world's vengeance would surely follow.

"You'll all die, you lowborn trash!"

Saint Saturn of the Five Elders drove his cane toward Sharn and Kuma.

"Jihahahahaha! This is my stage too!"

Golden Lion Shiki crossed his twin blades,

lifting the ground into the air.

"Don't you dare stop them—

let them sail toward the sea of freedom!"

Rayleigh's sword struck toward the Five Elder as well.

Tension exploded—

before a dragon could rise,

it had to leap the gate against impossible odds.

Winds howled,

clouds roared,

and in that storm—

the dragon and the bear both reached for freedom.
