A pulse. A force that was unknown to us. New to us. Something extremely powerful. Like her soul hiccuped and the universe flinched.

The shockwave blasted outward in a perfect circle—like someone had smacked the world with a giant invisible pillow.

The demon sovereign spider reared back, shrieking as the force slammed into it.

Cracks ripped across its armored body.

Its eyes burst like overripe berries.

Its legs curled inward.

And then—

BOOOOM.

The entire creature collapsed like a crushed can—imploding under its own weight, splattering across the cavern floor in a mess of black ichor and twitching limbs.

Silence.

Total, stunned, deafening silence.

I slowly turned to Seraphine.

She blinked at the corpse.

Blink.

Blink.

Then she looked at her hands. "…Oops?"

"Oops?!" Coffi screamed, clutching her hair.

Sir Jin choked out, "You killed a demon sovereign spider… by accident, my lady?"

Henry whispered, "Holy mother of hearthstones…"

Joff fainted. Again.
