Chubby hissed, "It's a rift—MOVE!"

Lady Seraphine shrieked. Not a dignified princess scream.

She spun in circles.

Coffi teleported—she didn't run, she materialized beside her—slapping Seraphine's back, jacket, hair, shoulder, everywhere.

Slap. Slap-slap. Slap-slap-slap.

"STAND STILL, MY LADY!"

"HOW CAN I STAND STILL WHEN SOMETHING IS CRAWLING INTO MY SOUL?!"

One last dramatic smack—PANG!

Something hit the ground.

Venom sacs glistening.

Big as a gold coin.

Its carapace pulsing with dark mana.
