"This is fascinating but you're both missing the real problem." Umbra said.
"Who invited you?" Kai asked, though he didn't seem surprised.
"I invited myself. This is my game, after all." Umbra walked forward casually, as if it was completely normal. "Though I must admit, you've both been performing beautifully. Pure entertainment."
"This isn't entertainment…" Nyx said.
"Well…. it is entertainment when this many people are watching." Umbra replied. "Kai thinks violence is the only answer. You think negotiation and integration are possible. But neither of you has asked the real question."
"Which is?"
"Why are you negotiating with wrong choices?" Umbra's silver eyes gleamed. "Kai wants you to dissolve your bond or accept you're influenced. But there's always a third option."
"Like?"
"Like…" Umbra said, moving closer to her, "bonding with me instead."
