Chapter 15 - Grassland

Neil gazed at the first troop of his territory, the cloud vulture.

Its height was a bit over five feet, with thick black fur and a shiny metal-like beak.

Even its claws seemed to be made of some metal; the creature's eyes appeared menacing.

It actually looked quite terrifying, especially when spreading its large wings.

As Neil got closer to the barrack, the scared pair of siblings ran and hid behind him.

While Bob and Rob were still doing their work, unbothered, it looked so magical no matter how many times one saw it.

The vulture noticed Neil's presence and walked closer; it was reaching up to his shoulder and looked quite heavy.

"Nice…" Neil patted the creature's head; thankfully, there was no need to name everyone in his army.

They did possess names of their own.

But it would also be difficult for him to remember the names of them all, especially when his army grew further.

"Well, welcome to the Graveyard."

After speaking, Neil opened its status panel.

[Troop]: Cloud Vulture

[Lord]: Dead Man Walking

[Rank]: 1st Origin Mythic Class

[Talent]: Scout and Flight

"!!!" In his surprise, Neil read the description; no wonder these troops were so expensive.

"Mythic Class!!" he exclaimed after a moment.

And he could have an entire army of such creatures?

This was just madness, even though the price was rather high.

Still, with such an army, his strength would be unmatched, at least among the same origin rank.

Although there wasn't anything mentioned about upgrading it to the next origin, he could worry about that later.

This single creature should be enough to kill almost all of the new lords, even when fully prepared.

"Woah, it's the first time I am seeing something like that. The vultures had long since been extinct, master; should we test its skill by using the guardian?" Nemo asked, seeming just as excited.

The AI has evolved to such an extent that they actually seemed to feel emotions, or maybe they have learned to act in different situations appropriately.

Either way, it was nice to have her company.

"Hmm, we can't; the guardian cannot go outside right now, and the fight can't take place here." Neil rejected before muttering.

"But seeing as how scouting and flight is its specialty, fighting and strength isn't its main turf.

Still, it should at least be as strong as a diamond-class creature, if not more, we will check that later." Neil thought, and his estimates weren't far from reality.

All in all, Neil was completely satisfied with this addition to his army.

The troops could be used for both attack and defense.

"I guess it is time to see how good of a scout and hunter you are."

Patting the head of the deadly monster, Neil smiled; then, turning around, he looked at the siblings.

"It is fine; he won't hurt you. I will be out hunting late, so we won't be eating together." He said.

"O- O- Okay, lord." Ray shivered while replying; then the two ran back to the kitchen.

"Let's go." Then Neil, Magnar, and the cloud vulture headed out of the domain.

Since this was the last day in this realm, it was time to go all out in hunting.

After getting out of the domain, Neil looked at his troop and ordered: "Go and kill any creature you find; bring its body to me."

GRRRRR…

Letting out a noise, the vulture took flight at a very high speed, disappearing into the sky within moments.

And thus began the hunt…

Several hours passed; Neil had such a busy day.

Finally, he returned to his room to have the much-needed sleep; after drinking some water, he fell over his bed.

But before going to sleep, he checked everything he had done on the last day.

A wall made of black wood, the same as the house, was already made around the domain.

Exactly 120 wall segments were created, using 1200 shards, and now there was an invisible barrier surrounding the domain from all sides.

Though Neil wasn't yet sure how strong it was.

The workshop was also ready, but he didn't have the time to check it yet; 1200 shards were spent on it too.

Neil planned to check it the next day, after returning to the Zoratian planet.

He also spent 3000 shards to purchase the Cloud Vulture, which proved to be an excellent choice in his hunt.

Now both Bob and Rob were resting; they had been working tirelessly all this time.

Also, unlike Magnar, the cloud vulture could not be sustained by gene points; it needed meat to eat.

And it can't enter the core building.

Thankfully, most of the ingredients and materials were available in the kitchen, so Neil only needed to worry about the extra cost.

After going over all the things he had done in the last few days, Neil headed to sleep.

After a long, peaceful sleep, Neil woke up as his domain started trembling.

It was finally time; he was returning to the Zoratian planet.

Getting off the bed, he walked close to the window and glanced outside.

To the right of his house were the two builder huts, and both Bob and Rob were now inside their huts.

On the left was the kitchen, where the siblings, Ray and Fay, were present.

The newly built workshop was present near the left front corner.

And the barrack in which his only troop, the cloud vulture, was present.

While the guardian was present in the core room, resting.

Magnar, just like always, was sleeping on the bed.

While wooden walls, as high as two meters, surrounded the boundary, each covered with exquisite patterns.

Sounds of distant creatures roaring could be heard; they seemed to be panicking.

The domain was trembling; a bright light started surrounding the boundary as several messages flashed before his eyes.

[Time remaining: 00:00:00]

[Returning to the Zoratian planet.]

[Please stay within your domain.]

The intensity of the tremors increased, and blinding light surrounded the domain, making Neil cover his eyes instinctively.

Losing his balance, Neil fell on the bed as all sound and noise disappeared.

The strange phenomenon continued for a minute as the distant noises grew fainter.

Finally, everything became calm as the tremors stopped and the blinding light dissipated.

Rubbing his eyes, Neil got to his feet and approached the window again.

As he opened his eyes, Neil found himself standing in a green land; clear sounds of a waterfall could also be heard.

The place actually didn't look bad; his domain seemed to have established at a rather nice location.

It was not just him, but all over the Zoratian planet, the new lords had just returned after their challenges.

Their domains were sent to random locations, but still near their establishments.

So, Neil was currently present in the Lizzard Men territory, and no matter how good the place seemed, he would have to leave it very soon.

At this point, all new lords must be finding themselves in random locations.

Some would be overjoyed, some would be depressed.

Many might be killed instantly, if they were unfortunate enough to enter a dangerous area or some forbidden zone.

There were few forbidden zones over the Zoratian planet, some were found some were not.

They were extremely deadly.

"Nemo, is everything alright?" Neil asked as his assistant scanned his domain and answered.

"Yes, master; there are no changes or damage. Should I connect to the world consciousness?"

"…Yeah."

Just as he had answered, several messages began to pop before him.
