Chapter 38 - You are home

"I'm fine... just... give me a minute."

He muttered weakly, still leaning against Mitsuri. Sanemi and Rengoku were doubled over laughing, while Tengen tried to stifle his own laughter. "That was priceless!" Rengoku managed to say between laughs. Mitsuri gently patted Obanai's cheek, still holding him up.

"I think I broke him..." She said with a mixture of concern and amusement. Obanai weakly pushed her hand away, his face still flushed. "I'm not broken, just... weak to your affection."

He admitted quietly, causing another round of laughter from the others. Giyuu approached the group, raising an eyebrow at the scene.

"What happened to Obanai?" He asked, noticing his friend's state. Sanemi wiped a tear from his eye, still chuckling. "Mitsuri gave him a heart attack with her hug." Rengoku explained, trying to compose himself. Giyuu kissed Sanemi's cheek. *Sanemi froze, his laughter stopping abruptly as his face turned bright red.

"G-Giyuu!" He stammered, completely caught off guard by the unexpected kiss. Sanemi wrapped his arms around Giyuu's waist, burying his face in his shoulder.

"You can't just do that in public..."

He mumbled, his voice muffled but filled with affection.* Sanemi started to kiss his neck and Giyuu let out a soft gasp. His hands gripping Sanemi's shoulders as the others watched with mixed expressions of surprise and amusement.

"Sanemi..." He whispered, trying to maintain some semblance of composure despite the public setting. Tengen cleared his throat loudly, breaking the moment. "Alright, enough of that. We're still in the hallway, remember?" He said firmly, though there was a hint of a smirk on his face. Sanemi rolled his eyes but reluctantly stepped back, though he kept one arm possessively around Giyuu's waist.

"Fine, fine. But this isn't over." He muttered, shooting a playful glare at Tengen. Mitsuri giggled, clearly entertained by the whole situation.

"Aww, you two are so cute together!" She cooed, earning a scowl from Sanemi and a small smile from Giyuu. Rengoku clapped his hands together, trying to change the subject.

"How about we go to the cafeteria? I'm starving!" He suggested enthusiastically, though his eyes kept darting between Sanemi and Giyuu with amusement. Obanai, who had finally recovered, nodded in agreement.

"Good idea. Let's go before these two start making out again." He said dryly, earning a playful shove from Sanemi. The group began walking towards the cafeteria, with Sanemi and Giyuu walking side by side.

"You're surprisingly clingy today."

Giyuu commented quietly, a hint of fondness in his voice. Sanemi shrugged, his grip on Giyuu's waist tightening slightly. "Maybe I just want to show everyone that you're mine." He admitted, a hint of possessiveness in his tone. Giyuu's cheeks flushed again at Sanemi's words, and he gently squeezed his hand.

"You don't need to be possessive, you know."

He said softly, though he didn't pull away. Sanemi smirked, leaning closer to whisper in Giyuu's ear.

"But it's fun to see you blush." He teased, his breath warm against Giyuu's skin. Giyuu's blush deepened, and he lightly pushed Sanemi away with his elbow. "You're impossible." He muttered, though his eyes were soft with affection. Sanemi chuckled, clearly enjoying this reaction. "And you love it." He said confidently, earning a small smile from Giyuu that he quickly tried to hide. Later in class the group was seated in class, with Sanemi and Giyuu sharing a desk as usual.

The teacher was lecturing about the upcoming tournament, and Sanemi was doodling on his notebook instead of paying attention. Giyuu nudged Sanemi with his elbow again, silently indicating he should focus on the lesson.

Sanemi sighed dramatically but put down his pen, leaning back in his chair and wrapping an arm around Giyuu's shoulders instead. The teacher called on Giyuu to answer a question, and he straightened up in his seat, momentarily forgetting about Sanemi's arm. Sanemi watched him intently, admiring how focused Giyuu looked when studying. Giyuu answered the question correctly, earning a proud smile from Sanemi.

Sanemi leaned closer, whispering quietly.

"Good boy." He praised, knowing how much Giyuu loved being praised. Giyuu's eyes widened slightly at the praise, a subtle shiver running down his spine. He shot Sanemi a warning look, but there was no real heat behind it. Sanemi just grinned, knowing he had gotten under Giyuu's skin again. The bell rang, signaling the end of class. Giyuu quickly gathered his things, trying to escape before Sanemi could tease him further. Sanemi caught his wrist, pulling him back gently.

"Running away already?" Giyuu turned to face him, trying to appear annoyed but failing miserably. "We have another class to get to." He said, though he didn't pull his wrist away from Sanemi's grip. Sanemi smirked, noticing how Giyuu wasn't actually trying to get away.

"Let's skip it." He suggested, his thumb gently stroking Giyuu's wrist. Giyuu hesitated, torn between his responsible nature and his desire to spend time with Sanemi.

"Sanemi..." He said warningly, but the way his voice softened at the end betrayed his interest in the idea. Sanemi leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Just a quick break. We can study later." He promised, his eyes glinting with mischief and desire. Giyuu bit his lip, finally giving in with a small nod.

"Fine. But just for a little while." He conceded, already knowing he would regret this decision later when they had to catch up on their missed work. Sanemi's face lit up with triumph as he pulled Giyuu towards the door.

"Perfect. I know just the place."

He said excitedly, practically dragging Giyuu out of the classroom. They walked hand in hand through the empty hallway, Sanemi leading them to a secluded spot behind the school building. Once they were alone, Sanemi pressed Giyuu against the wall, caging him in with his arms. Giyuu's breath hitched as he looked up at Sanemi, his heart racing. "You're really going to get us in trouble one day." He murmured, though he made no move to push Sanemi away. Sanemi chuckled, leaning down to press a soft kiss to Giyuu's forehead. "Worth it." He said simply, his hands sliding down to rest on Giyuu's hips. Giyuu let out a soft sigh, his hands coming up to rest on Sanemi's chest.

"You're impossible to resist."

He admitted quietly, his fingers playing with the fabric of Sanemi's shirt. Sanemi's heart swelled at Giyuu's words, and he captured Giyuu's lips in a gentle kiss.

The kiss quickly deepened, filled with all the love and affection they felt for each other. They lost track of time, completely absorbed in each other. Sanemi's hands moved to cup Giyuu's face, while Giyuu's fingers tangled in Sanemi's hair.
