Chapter 9: The Spring Outing
Sweetie used to be an obedient, soft sweetheart. The family elders all doted on her. Now that this had happened, everyone assumed Sweetie had suffered a severe shock and temporarily couldn't accept it, so they all came forward to persuade her.
Second Uncle: "Sweetie, your father is just temporarily sending you to the countryside estate. Once things blow over, he'll bring you back."
Sweetie: "Fuck off, you meddling busybody!"
Third Uncle: "Sweetie, how can you say such treasonous things? That's your Second Uncle!"
Sweetie: "You fuck off too!"
She held a rod in her hand, rampaging through the ancestral hall like a mad bull, sometimes laughing maniacally, sometimes shouting loudly.
"Damn it, if you all weren't stopping me, I'd smash this shitty ancestral hall! Sophia Song, I advise you to quickly annul your engagement with Dominic Night! You ugly bitch, you're so crude—you don't deserve my Brother Dominic at all!"
"And you, Marcus Song, you old bastard! What are you looking at? Aren't I your biological daughter? Why are you marrying Sophia to Brother Dominic? Brother Dominic doesn't like her at all!"
The elders were completely overwhelmed. After Sweetie's mutation, her combat power maxed out—four or five servants couldn't subdue her.
But the servants didn't dare use force, fearing they'd provoke her into smashing the ancestral hall and overturning all the memorial tablets.
Yet she kept attacking and cursing everyone indiscriminately.
Father, trembling with anger: "Someone, go fetch the Second Prince! I want to see just how much you love the Second Prince!"
About half an hour later, Dominic arrived. His lips were pale and dry—clearly, he'd been washing his mouth a lot.
As soon as she saw Dominic, Sweetie instantly transformed back into that soft, adorable little woman.
"Brother Dominic! Quick, save me! Marcus Song, this old bastard, wants to beat me to death!"
Dominic was confused for a moment, feeling something was off about Sweetie. He turned to look at Father questioningly.
"Minister Song, what's going on?"
Father: "Second Prince, Sweetie Song says you two are mutually in love. If that's the case, then you should annul your engagement with Sophia and marry Sweetie Song instead."
Father slammed the table and grabbed my hand, immediately deciding to enter the palace.
"Let's go, Sophia. Father will take you to see the King."
So I was dragged into the palace in confusion, bringing along the bewildered Dominic and the bashful Sweetie.
"Your Majesty, that's how it is. The Second Prince and Sweetie Song are mutually in love. If that's the case, why not annul the engagement between the Second Prince and Sophia?"
I looked up at the King pitifully. "Yes, Your Majesty. The Second Prince doesn't like this humble daughter at all. Even if I marry him, I won't be happy. It's better to fulfill the Second Prince and Sweetie."
Dominic nodded, domineeringly pulling Sweetie into his arms. "Please, Father, grant us this."
The two had fallen into a cesspit together before—that counts as sharing hardship.
In the end, the King decided to annul my engagement with Dominic. But Sweetie was a concubine's daughter and didn't deserve to be Dominic's primary consort—she could only be a side consort.
The royal decree was issued. Even if Sweetie was unwilling, she could only become Dominic's side consort.
