Chapter 1 - Ch 1 - Welcome to the Jungle.

Chapter 1: Welcome to the Jungle.

David was a.. rather average guy, at best. Despite being rather accomplished in his youth, with a high IQ- what came with being a talented young child was extreme pressure. And unlike others, David didn't become a diamond under it. David was a.. lowlife, I'd say. No aspirations, not even really a drive to live. He lived off unemployment and his parents, staying home - gooning and watching anime all day. Like many, David grew up on Dragon Ball Z - the large scale fights, dynamic conflicts and the badass power ups. His upcoming consuming Dragon Ball media caused his enjoyment even as his life crumbled to uselessness to border on obsession, emulating every old game - spending too much time on both Xenoverse games, and a watch count of Super and Z in the double digits.

David, even through his obsession and unemployment saw himself as a consumer of fine media - enjoying the most compelling stories, and that's what drew him into the Cell Saga, his own favorite Saga of Z. The androids, Trunks' future, and most importantly - Cell.

"Even if the androids didn't exist, id do so much better than that cocky bitch."

He would say to himself, despite having watched the cell saga countless times. And that was his own belief - Cell was simply too cocky, encountering Piccolo early on with mindless rampages, and allowing the Z fighters to train unimpeded, he was only obsessed with the androids, and once he became perfect - he apparently lost IQ too, goading Gohan into awakening, and eventually dying, even after getting a Zenkai boost.

And that's what led to something some would say was a golden chance, others would say is an unfortunate fate.

David found himself sprawled, laying uncomfortably on his back on dirt, looking up at a red sky with two moons, foliage and trees as far as he could see. His own confusion was unmatched, as his mind moved at a slow pace to understand how this happened, the headache like a brick to the head.

Even as he laid there, almost stupid with pure shock, his memories eventually caught up with the situation. David had died, and whilst it was already a hard pill to swallow, he felt awfully alive, and this looked like a boring heaven. Even as David recounted his memories, it felt disappointing. No truck-kun, no cat that he saved that turned out to be a goddess, David had a random stroke and died, at least from what he could assume. Maybe his surroundings were caused by Stroke-fueled delirium?

As his brain finally chugged forward to an acceptable pace, he sat up, taking a deep breath in, then out - a wheezing sound almost. Whilst his own breath didn't feel impeded or anything, that sound still confused him, as he finally looked down to understand if he was in the hospital and still having stroke-fueled hallucinations - which is when his brain finally froze again. Distinct green legs and arms, blue joints all made out of chitin-like armor - which is when he finally realized..

"Cell?"
