Chapter 57 - 57: Vip Luck

"Again?"

Lucien felt a moment of disorientation, then appeared in a world filled with sand.

He had returned and he saw the Founding Ymir in the distance.

As always, Ymir resembled a walking corpse, piling Titans with sand, completely oblivious to Lucien's presence.

"Perhaps only by consuming all Nine Titans will there be a change."

Now, only the War Hammer Titan remained.

In a flash, Lucien returned to the real world; only an instant had passed.

Yet, he had spent at least a minute in that world , while in reality, it was just a moment.

"Eren!"

Armin, Connie, and the others were sobbing loudly.

Lucien ignored them and focused on Zhou Wei on the ground.

"We're from the same place, right?!"

Zhou Wei's face was filled with terror as he watched Lucien, transformed into the Armored Titan, seize him. He desperately circulated his internal energy, but he couldn't feel any. The two Blood Burst Pills had already left his body riddled with holes.

In martial arts terms, his Dantian was shattered.

Zhou Wei's pleas and screams did not stir a shred of pity in Lucien.

With a forceful grip of his Hardening right hand, Zhou Wei let out a single shriek amidst splattering blood, then was completely reduced to a pile of minced flesh and casually tossed aside by Lucien.

At the same time, an invisible energy entered Lucien's body, though he felt nothing. The moment he consumed Eren, another invisible energy also merged with him.

Lucien immediately pulled up the light screen, only sighing in relief after confirming that both Eren and Zhou Wei were dead.

He had feared Zhou Wei might still be alive. Being a Reincarnator was such a high-class profession; no one knew what methods he might possess.

However, with Zhou Wei truly dead, Lucien still felt a sense of unreality.

It had been too easy.

Completely unlike the protagonists in the novels he read, who had endless trump cards and were impossible to kill. If one wasn't careful, a counter-kill could befall them.

That was why Lucien had always regarded Zhou Wei as formidable, and why he had fled when victory seemed impossible before.

He had feared Zhou Wei had some trick up his sleeve, leaving him no chance to escape.

But now, the situation was resolved smoothly.

This was also thanks to Zhou Wei being a novice Reincarnator who had not yet experienced the harsh realities of life; otherwise, the final outcome could have been uncertain.

Lucien composed himself and, under the wary gazes of Connie and the others, turned and left.

Next, he planned to go to the Marley Empire to consume the War Hammer Titan.

As for Armin, he was kindhearted.

He had promised Eren to spare these people, but seeking them out again after sparing them was a different matter.

It was only a matter of time. They would all die eventually.

Lucien was trying to have his cake and eat it too.

He was still willing to deceive himself regarding basic principles. If possible, he wanted to remain a trustworthy good person, but his hands itched, and he couldn't resist throwing the Dice.

The next time they met, they would still be life-and-death friends, ready to face all hardships together.

As Lucien departed, Sasha and the others knelt weakly on the ground, letting out sighs of relief. But when they thought of Eren, their expressions darkened.

Only Erwin kept watching Lucien's retreating back.

An hour later, Lucien appeared in a forest, impatiently leaping onto a branch and pulling up the light screen.

[Successfully hunted Eren Jaeger, Son of Destiny of the Attack on Titan world. Reward: 4 Dice rolls, VIP Luck +1.]

[Successfully hunted Main God Space Reincarnator Lv.4 Zhou Wei. Reward: 4 Dice rolls, VIP Luck +1.]

Looking at the description on the light screen, Lucien suppressed the tremor in his heart.

His gaze was entirely fixed on "VIP Luck +1."

What was this?

Luck also had VIP?

Was there an SVIP coming later?

But it was clear that it was superior to ordinary luck, since it was already VIP.

If ordinary luck boosts could yield things like a war BGM that doubles strength, Senzu Beans, or Soru, then VIP Luck must guarantee powerful rewards one hundred percent of the time.

Lucien rubbed his hands; with a total of eight Dice rolls and two VIP Luck chances, he was both excited and nervous.

"Let's begin!"

The fist-sized Dice spun and bounced. Lucien felt the Dice itself was excited, though he wasn't sure if it was just his imagination.

The number was two; the model airplane moved two spaces.

"Do you wish to use VIP Luck?"

Lucien hesitated, then chose to use it.

There was a dazzling light. After it vanished, Lucien stared unblinkingly at the light screen.

"Soul Devour +1."

"Description: By touching with both hands, you can devour the soul of any living being and gain all the abilities of the devoured soul. Simultaneously, your soul will be purified, and your willpower, talent, and five senses will all be elevated by one level."

Lucien was first stunned, then lit a cigarette, exhaled smoke, and reread it several times.

VIP Luck was no joke. While this item seemed simple, it was incredibly powerful when truly considered.

"Can devour the soul of any living being and gain all the abilities of the devoured soul."

This meant that in the Pirate World, Lucien would only need to touch Whitebeard once to gain all of his abilities.

The Tremor-Tremor Fruit, Haki mastery, and all other abilities—anything Whitebeard knew, he could acquire.

My goodness.

And the soul purification, plus willpower, talent, and five senses elevation.

What was this? Bone and marrow cleansing? Talent enhancement? Heightened senses?

Taking a deep drag from his cigarette, Lucien trembled slightly.

This ability absolutely could not be used casually.

The only pity was that it was a one-time consumable. How great it would be if it were a skill!

Lucien began his second Dice roll. As the Dice bounced again, the model airplane moved three spaces.

[Do you wish to use VIP Luck?]

"No."

Lucien did not use this last VIP Luck chance.

[Multiplication Table.]

Lucien's burning heart instantly turned cold.

He didn't even bother to read it a second time. One times one is one, one times two is two… what was three times seven again?

He continued with the third Dice roll; the airplane moved five spaces.

[One pair of women's original stinky socks.]

"Description: Unwashed for one year, the smell can easily knock out a wild boar."

Damn it. If there had been no description, Lucien might have accepted it, but after reading it, it was clearly a disaster.

Fourth time.

"One ordinary watermelon knife."

"Description: Ordinary steel, as common as can be."

Fifth time.

[One authentic Roasted Duck.]

"Description: Bright red, tender meat, rich flavor, characteristic fattiness without being greasy, hailed as 'the delicacy of the world'."

With a thought, Lucien looked at the fragrant roasted duck in his hand and took a bite directly.

Thankfully, it wasn't expired.

After all, the useless Golden Finger space still had a bottle of expired condiments.

Sixth time.

"One Gatling machine gun."

"Description: Comes with 30,000 rounds of ammunition. Fires 1,000 rounds per minute. No reloading required. One-minute cooldown."

Finally, something useful.

This Gatling was far more impressive than the Type 92 pistol.

Lucien's chilled heart warmed a little.

Seventh time.

[Hemorrhoids for one year.]

"Description: A common disease located in the anal area, causing unbearable itching and pain. Incurable."

Veins popped out on Lucien's forehead, making his face look terrifying.

The roasted duck in his hand suddenly lost all appeal.

This was too much.

This useless Golden Finger had no sense of awareness at all, no wonder it had been so unreliable.

[Do you wish to use Vip Luck?]
