The human turned into wolf form again and padded away from river
His paws made no sound
He moved quickly between the tree trunks thick dense bushes and jumping over the rocks, calm and alert
He started his search for a place that was safe— somewhere hidden, his golden eyes scanned every shadow sniffing hollow logs, log ledge
And finally he found it
A small cave half covered by thick vines, narrow entrance, but inside it was wider and dry
He stepped inside turned into a slow circle, checking then lay down on the cool stone floor
The place was quiet, only sound of water dripping from deep inside the cave and chirping and buzzing of night insect was coming
The moonlight outside was brighter now and his body was heating up, his breath grew heavier
The rut was starting and it would last all night
