Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Waiting for a Love That Won’t Stay

Leon didn't blink. He didn't move a muscle. He just stared at Theo with eyes that looked like shards of ice.

"If you can't apologize," Leon said, his voice dropping an octave, "then get out of my office. Right now."

The silence returned, heavier than before. I couldn't breathe. I looked at the floor, my cheek still throbbing, but my mind was spinning. Leon, the man who had told me I was nothing, the man who had called me unattractive and a "nobody" was standing in front of me, drawing a line in the sand against the person he supposedly loved.

Theo stared at Leon, his face turning a mottled shade of red as the humiliation began to sink in. He looked at Frank and Evans, searching for an ally, but they both remained stone-faced, watching the downfall of the agency's golden boy.

"You're serious?" Theo's voice trembled with a mix of fury and disbelief. "You're choosing this? Over me?"
