Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

Chapter Six

Dawn Pov.

"Miss… whatever your name is, the floor is yours," I said with a dull face but inside, I was exploding with excitement. This came to me so easily, I had been thinking of making some money to purchase it from her but she had just given it to me free of charge.

"Of course, watch and learn." She quipped before going to walk before a range and I smirked. This was by far the most easiest thing I have ever done in my life and they didn't even know it yet.

She took her aim and sent me a smirk before releasing it and it flew straight to… a circle before bullseye.

"Whoops, your skills have grown. That's good, Miss Kayla." The instructor praised with a smile but I saw through it, his smile was tight as if he felt obligated to say such words.

No wonder her skill was so poor, he was under orders not to stress this girl. That would change, soon enough.

"Of course I have. Your turn," she said, pointing to me and I smiled before pulling three arrows and quickly releasing it from my spot like it was nothing.

It really was nothing, at this point in my life this felt more like a part of me than something I had to actively do.

The arrows sailed through the air and landed perfectly at bullseye, the both of them lodged at the same place and I heard shocked gasps fill my ears.

"You know sitting around and praying to whatever god you're serving to help your skill isn't good for you. You should be like me you know, train more or a highlight.." I trailed off, glancing at the shocked students and Kayla who still stared at the dummy I had shot.

"Allow the instructor to instruct you correctly instead of putting stupid fear in him. You remember yesterday right? You won't always be that lucky," I said with a smirk before walking up to her.

"Now, deeds and the rest of the documents please." I stretched out my left arm out to her and that brought her out of her reverie quickly.

"How did you do that?" She asked dumbly and I gave her a funny look.

"I shot the same arrow as you, just with a better aim. You don't want to go back on your word now would you?" I asked, my eyebrows raising as I glanced around, subtly informing her of how many students had heard her say those words.

She looked visibly displeased by that notion but still, she summoned the things and it appeared out of thin air much to my surprise before giving it to me.

"Thanks for your cooperation." I smirked as I sent it into my space and she looked visibly surprised by what just happened.

"Where did that go? I thought you didn't have a space ring?" She asked, her voice filled with suspicion and I winced internally.

"I told you your sense was either far from you or isn't even there at all because why the heck would you do such a thing?" Rae Rae grumbled within me and I glared at her.

Don't you think I know that?.

"I don't think you do, I know you don't. Now, tell her it was a gift from the almighty beast god," her voice was full of sarcasm but at that moment, I didn't dabble around to listen to her.

I just blurted it outright. "The beast god gave it to me as a gift a day ago."

"The beast god?"

"How?"

"She met him!"

"He gave her a space ring??"

"Doesn't make any sense but also does too"

Thanks chica. That was helpful, a lot.

At least they were taking it better than I thought they would. "I just said that, why did you go and say it?" Rae Rae asked with shock and I raised one eyebrow at her.

"Why would he give you a space when you clearly have nothing to offer him?" Kayla growled at me with eyes full of anger and I smirked.

"Didn't I just beat you now? Are you up for a rematch so soon?" I asked and her face flushed before she pointed at my face with pure anger.

"This is not over, let's go" she screeched at her followers and they quickly followed behind her as they stormed out of the field like kids who had been denied candies.

"Hey Dawn," a voice called out from behind me and I glanced around to find that guy from this morning, I think code was his name.. Maybe crane?

"It's Corey, you bumbling beetle!" Rae Rae grumbled inside my head and I shifted on my feet.

"Hey Corey," his eyes visibly lightened at my voice and I smiled, a genuine smile this time instead of the guarded one from earlier today.

"How did you do that? You were never good at all this before," he said, probing me with a question I had been prepared to answer even before I began doing anything.

"I have been training privately for a long time now, why do you ask?" I asked, returning his question.

"It's pretty impressive, care to show me the ropes?" He asked and I gave him a surprised look.

"Miss Maviis Dawn Silver, That was a pretty good shot. Why don't you show your peers the ropes?" A voice asked and I glanced to the side to find the instructor smiling warmly at me.

He looked pleased with me and for a moment, I glanced at the eager students and then at the instructor then back at Corey before I sighed.

"Listen to me, I don't do simple drills with my shooting lessons. If you want me to teach you then prepare to be able to hit either two circles close to that bullseye or one close to it, are you still interested?" I asked, hoping they would all back off but none of them did.

Instead they hooted loudly before each of them came to pick up a bow.

"What do you think you're doing?" I asked, my brows tightening up and they all stopped to stare at me with confusion.

"You think shooting is just that…? Arrows and bows? You need to strengthen those arms so you can be able to hold and draw that string tightly. Push ups, now!" I ordered and was shocked when everyone of them dropped to their hands and feet and began to do the pushups.

Same as Corey. Oh dear, I was expecting them to give up then I'd leave without a guilty heart but they had shocked me to the core.

"Wait, I don't get it. Shouldn't you hate me and refute me?" I couldn't help but ask and the instructor came to stand beside me.

"Something about them is this, they never miss training because they hold grudges against someone and since you have something they want, they would do anything you ask to get it, like you did.. with Kayla" he explained and my face turned hot.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." I mumbled, giving him one last look before I flew towards the students.

"Beast gods and beast space? How come I didn't know I came from the beast god?" Rae Rae grumbled inside my head with confusion and a bit of curiosity.

"That was just a damn lie, get over it. It was a desperate situation," I said and she gave me a look.

"Yeah.. a desperate situation and a desperate lie, this will come back to bite you in the ass.. trust me," she promised and I sighed, already resigned to that fate in particular.

"Miss Dawn." A voice yelled loudly from behind me and I felt my whole body stiffen at the familiar energy before I slowly turned around with a goofy smile on my face.

"Principal Wallace, Hi." I greeted, my voice tight but she merely smiled at me softly. If I didn't know better, I would think she was trying to pass off as calm and composed or maybe kind?.

"She's failing… spectacularly," Rae Rae laughed within me and I sent a small prayer of relief to the sky that she was inside of me and couldn't be seen or i'd always be in trouble because of her running mouth.

"Is there something you need from me?" I asked after a while of silence and her smile broadened.

"You made mention earlier that the beast god blessed you with the gift of space?" She asked for clarification and my eyes roamed all over her.

Of course she had heard about it in such a short time and she thought trying to ask when she already had the clarification she needed was going to make me reduce my suspicion of her.

Damn the same woman had sent people after me just hours ago so yeah, I didn't trust her one bit.

"You were informed of that in such short notice, I'm in awe of your reach, principal," I said, my voice losing its light and she nodded, her smile becoming strained.

"Of course I wouldn't question it. And yes, I said so. Is there a problem?" I asked and her entire body language shifted.

"Come with me to my office, please. We need a private space for this conversation." She gestured towards her office building and I felt my heart shift in my chest.

"Dum dum dum… finally shed your skin" Rae Rae mumbled with irritation and my eyes narrowed at the woman.

What did she want to do?
