Chapter 30 - chapter thirty

No one moved for a few seconds after the man spoke

The screens kept streaming data

But something in the rhythm broke

I did not feel any echo

No pressure in my head

Nothing that felt like my ability

I was fully aware

And that made it worse

Rico stepped closer to the control table

"Replay the last three minutes"

The man executed the command quickly

The command line rolled back

Codes

Data packets

Then it stopped

"Here"

He pointed at a small spot on the screen

"This connection"

I looked and understood nothing

But Rico did

"This is not the organization's signature"

Miyuko lifted her head immediately

"Are you sure?"

The man replied

"The organization does not enter like this"

"They open a full pathway"

"This… was just a touch"

I moved closer

I saw numbers change

Then return to what they were

As if someone opened a door

Looked

Then closed it quietly

I asked

"A touch on what?"

Rico did not look at me

He said in a low voice

"On your account"

I felt real chills this time

Not an ability

Just pure fear

"So they got in?"

He shook his head

"No"

"It means they can get in"

"And they chose not to"

One of the people sitting said

"And that is the strangest part"

"They left no trace"

"But they… left timing"

Rico turned to him

"Explain"

"The connection happened seconds before Ginso's file was updated"

"As if someone reviewed the evaluation"

"Then allowed it to be published"

The room fell into a heavy silence

Miyuko said slowly

"The organization would never allow that"

"If someone stopped them…"

Rico cut her off

"Then he is inside the same layer"

"Not above them"

"And not below them"

I looked at him

"Layer of what?"

He answered without hesitation

"Control"

The word felt heavier than it should

As if it did not belong to humans

One of the hackers spoke

"There is something else"

Everyone turned back to the screens

"This third party"

"Was not watching us"

"And not the organization"

He raised his head

"He was watching the decision"

I swallowed

"Which decision?"

He looked directly at me this time

"What they will do with you"

He did not say it as a threat

He said it like a technical fact

Like a line of code

Rico turned toward me

"Ginso"

"From now on"

"Anything that happens to you"

"Will not be random"

I asked

"Do we know who it is?"

He shook his head slowly

"No"

Then he added

"But we know one thing"

"This party"

"Does not want you to disappear now"

A final silence filled the room

Deeper than all before it

And I understood then

That the real danger

Was no longer that the organization could see me

But that

Someone else

Had decided

That I should remain visible
