Ana's POV
Thomas had built his entertainment career from scratch, never once using the Vernon name as leverage.
Most people had no clue he belonged to the Vernon family.
But Morris knew.
His hunch seemed dead-on. I really was tight with the Vernon clan.
By the time Thomas reached my hospital room, Lisa had already rushed off to handle some company emergency.
My jaw dropped when Thomas pulled off his mask.
"Mr. Vernon!"
"I haven't gotten the chance to thank you for earlier today," I managed.
Thomas strolled over and settled into the chair beside my bed, flashing me this genuine smile.
"You let me step in today. Made my whole week, honestly. I'm the one who should be grateful," he said.
I blinked, caught off guard, then couldn't help but laugh.
Never in a million years would I have pegged the untouchable Thomas as such a down-to-earth guy.
"The cops came up empty-handed, and the Collin family spun it as some internal drama, so the police dropped it," Thomas filled me in.
