Ana's POV
My words cast the private room into an unsettling quiet. The silence stretched until I wondered if Edwin was furious with me. Then, unexpectedly, his stern expression softened into a gentle laugh, the corners of his mouth lifting.
"This isn't actually my gift to you," Edwin said, warmth spreading across his features. "It's something that rightfully belongs to you."
I stared at him, bewildered, my brow creasing with confusion.
His gaze settled on me with such tenderness as he continued, "You came into this world surrounded by love and expectation. These shares were set aside by our parents and grandparents before you even drew your first breath."
Fred jumped in after his brother. "You're our family's treasure. Mom, Dad, even our grandparents before they passed—they all kept you in their thoughts. We're beyond thrilled that you've finally come home."
