Niall shot to his feet, his composed mask finally cracking.
"You seriously believe a few words can tear apart what Marcela and I built over all these years?" he hissed.
I kept my cool. "All those years, yet you still wanted to destroy her ability to perform forever. That massive spike you used—pretty bold choice."
"I already told you it wasn't me!" Niall's voice climbed higher.
"The proof's about to reveal it was you," I said, steady as stone.
Without missing a beat, I placed my purse carefully on my knees.
"Perfect crimes don't exist. I never even took that construction route, but somehow you swore under oath you watched me crash into Aileen. You went to extraordinary lengths fabricating such an absurd tale, which only proves how naive—and scheming—you really are. Schemes like yours always leave breadcrumbs.
