Even the following day, I still couldn't wrap my head around why I'd surrendered to Morris so effortlessly.
Caught in that hazy spell, all I could focus on was Morris's ridiculously gorgeous face, and all I could absorb was his voice, silky as midnight.
It felt like I'd fallen under some demon's curse—every single word that tumbled from my lips was precisely what that demon craved to hear.
While I worked on my design sketches, I couldn't stop replaying last night's scene—that intense goodbye moment with Morris—over and over in my head.
The instant Morris heard my agreement, that dark mood of his evaporated completely, replaced by the cocky smirk of someone who'd just scored exactly what he was after.
Afterwards, he kept me trapped in that car forever, covering me with kisses until I was totally wrecked, gasping and limp against him. Only then did he finally drive me back to the Vernon house, leaving me all rattled and completely conquered.
