Ana's POV
The day Morris and I were supposed to fly back to Marcel, a torrential downpour grounded all flights.
That's when Sullivan's call came through, asking Morris to extend our stay in Veridia. Some major client was flying in, and since we were already here, Sullivan figured Morris should handle the meeting.
Morris didn't hesitate—he flat-out refused. He reminded Sullivan about their deal and made it clear that Sullivan needed to get himself to Veridia for the negotiations.
That's when Sullivan dropped the bomb about Yolanda. Car accident in Marcel. Injured leg. Stuck in the hospital recovering, which meant Sullivan couldn't leave her side.
"When did this happen?" Morris's voice cut through the air, sharp and demanding.
I watched Morris's expression darken instantly, his jaw clenching as anger flashed across his features. The concern he was trying to hide came through anyway.
