Ana's POV
I lifted my gaze to meet Ridley's eyes head-on. "Ridley, get this straight. No matter how tight Aileen and Hughes's bond is, I'm still his mother. If you're hell-bent on parading your picture-perfect family around, so be it. Let's march down to the courthouse today and file for divorce. I won't even battle you for custody."
Ridley's laugh dripped with mockery. "That's your big move?" My divorce threats had become routine, but I'd never followed through.
"Every time jealousy hits, you wave divorce around like a weapon. You know damn well you can't make it without me. What's the Welch family worth anyway? You're just a divorced mom with baggage. Ana, don't test how far I'll go," he sneered.
He spun around and strutted back to Aileen and Hughes. I remained frozen in place, my complexion drained of color.
