Morris's POV

I didn't touch the coffee. After delivering my cold warning, I spun around and walked out without looking back.

The door slammed shut, leaving the living room drowning in thick silence for several heartbeats.

Toby's fist crashed down, sending the coffee cup flying off the table in pure rage.

Coffee splashed across the couch, leaving ugly stains as the mug exploded into pieces.

Sharp fragments sliced his calf, tiny drops of blood beading on his skin.

Kirk emerged from the back room to find Toby's face twisted with fury.

He couldn't suppress a shiver as he approached his boss.

"You want us to take him out now?" Kirk asked.

He'd caught every word from the other room, so he knew exactly what had Toby seeing red.

'Morris's still got that same arrogant streak,' Kirk mused.

Toby's expression was murderous, his normally gentle features warped into something almost unrecognizable.
