Elisabeth's POV
I smoothed down the fabric of my dress, stealing one final glance at my reflection before turning toward the door. My hands trembled slightly as I adjusted the neckline. Tonight would be my first full pack meeting since arriving at Jefferson's estate. The thought made my stomach churn with anxiety.
Jefferson ruled the largest pack in the realm. While not every member lived on the grounds, pack meetings drew them all together under one roof. Hundreds of eyes would be watching me tonight, evaluating me, judging whether I belonged beside their king.
I drew in a shaky breath, trying to calm the racing of my heart. Part of me wondered if I would ever truly fit into this world, or if I was simply fooling myself into believing I could. The knot of nerves in my stomach tightened with each passing second.
