Chapter 135 - Chapter 135 Not Coming Home

Elisabeth's POV

The sound of my heels clicking against the marble floor echoed through the hallway as I marched toward Cathrine's apartment, Alana right behind me. My heart hammered against my ribs, fury coursing through my veins with each step.

How dare she spy on me? How dare she invade my privacy like that?

When we reached her door, I lifted my hand to knock gently. Old habits die hard, and my mother's voice still whispered in my head about proper manners. But Alana had other ideas.

"What are you doing?" she hissed, shoving me aside.

Before I could answer, she pounded her fist against the door like she was trying to break it down. "Cathrine! We know you're in there! Open this door right now, or I swear I'll kick it in. You have seconds. One... two... three..."

The door swung open, revealing Cathrine in all her disheveled glory. Her hair looked like she'd been sleeping, and irritation radiated from every pore. "What is the meaning of this interruption?"
