Chapter 23 - Fantasy solutions

Brihan, Martinus, and of course, Lusihar and delta sigma prepared for the trip after changing their clothes; naturally, fighting monsters is not suitable in skirts. Everyone put on a backpack except for delta sigma, as she didn't need one.

delta sigma insisted they go on foot, as the place they were heading to was inaccessible by carriage.

They headed to Madalena to buy some supplies and camping equipment from the stores that were filled with strange objects, then to the middle of the city to take the safe western road.

Lusihar clipped two juice containers connected by tubes to her mouth onto her pink hat, which matched her summer shirt, while Brihan bought a mechanical fan. delta sigma changed her form to a human shape. Alfonso replaced his heavy armor with black adventurer clothes, with a sword on his back.

Agricultural plains stretched on all sides as far as the eye could see. Farid spoke:

"Alright, how far will we walk?"

"Hmm, about 200 kilometers."

The world suddenly fell silent. Then Farid tried to stop the carriages on the road.

Lusihar intercepted him and stopped him.

"You must learn to walk long distances."

"Why...?

Let me guess, this is another cognitive hazard, isn't it?"

"Heheh No, rather, you must learn to walk long distances because you will need to in the future."

"And why?"

"Well, that's a cognitive hazard! Heheh [sips] Got you."

The meadows that stretched as far as the eye could see flattened out. After some walking, the rocky road began to disappear as the agricultural areas ended and turned into a dirt road. Migrating trees began to appear. Farid whistled at one of them, and it struck his open mouth with a gelatinous fruit, smearing his face, and everyone else copied him.

After a certain distance, they were forced to leave the road, which began to head south, and entered the vast grassy meadows with the gentle breeze of open areas and some trees here and there. Farid gave up and fell to the ground from exhaustion.

"Have you given up that easily? We haven't even walked 30 kilometers."

"Do you want the cure, yes or no?"

Farid reluctantly got up and continued.

"Where are we going, anyway?"

"To your friend's house in the forest because the idiot, instead of bringing the cure method, brought her useless corpse...

Why are you looking at me like that? Go on, hit me, hhh."

Martinus replied:

"Stop it, Lusihar."

After penetrating deep into the grassy plains, anything elevated from the ground disappeared. The place was eerily empty—no animals, nothing, just the sound of the wind rustling the grass. The quintet made their way through the plains, relying on megalophobia to determine their direction.

Lusihar suddenly stopped, looking southwest. A group of homobbm were rushing towards them. She stared at the rest, who hadn't noticed. She laughed slightly, then said:

"If you haven't noticed, a group of naked, obese humans is rushing towards us..."

She dropped her bag, and the others did the same. Farid looked disgusted by their semi-naked, obese bodies in cavemen attire, wondering about their appearance. They were humans, but without irises in their eyes, just white, yet from the movement of their heads, he was certain they could see.

delta sigma flew into the air with her wings. Martinus unsheathed his sword. Brihan began electrocuting them, while Lusihar stood watching until some of the homobbm overpowered her. They grabbed her and tried to abduct her away, and she didn't resist until they moved far enough away and began stripping her of her clothes. Lusihar saw Farid coming, as if he would try to save her. Her smile turned into a serious look. She grabbed her clothes and with compressed wine drops like bullets, she eliminated them in a fraction of a second.

"Hehe, I don't need saving, Sir. All that matters is that I'm trying to torment them. If you knew the story of these beings, you would pass out from laughter."

On the other side, Martinus was fighting them. Explosive thrusts with his sword were enough to explode parts of them. He stabbed one in the stomach, and his sword exploded inside, scattering his abdomen into pieces, and another side strike opened one of their bodies lengthwise, causing him to retreat in pain. But he was quickly surrounded in the middle. His explosive sword was impractical. Suddenly, one of them lunged at him from behind, immobilizing him, and another tried to strike his head with his stick, but a quick splash of wine from Lusihar's finger destroyed his upper part.

On the other hand, Brihan was only delivering fatal electric shocks. One of the homobbm threw a rock at her from afar, knocking her unconscious, and they pounced on her. One of the homobbm grabbed her and broke her arm and pulled it until it tore from its place. The same thing happened with the other arm. Then they began stripping her clothes. Farid saw the scene and rushed, trying to do something, but a sudden attack caught him by surprise—a blow with a wooden club to his head that made the world twist before him until he fell to the ground, but he did not lose consciousness. Lusihar used a rock to explode the head of the attacker and walked towards him.

She looked at delta sigma and wanted to scold her, but she saw her distracted, flying with her wings in the air. She lifted Farid by his arm onto her shoulder while seeing him also distracted, staring at Brihan being violated. Lusihar took a deep breath, then formed several drops above her head and released them all at once. It was just one explosion, and all the homobbm fell dead.

Lusihar walked to the unconscious Brihan beneath the homobbm corpses, who was soaked in her blood.

< Karma is real >

With her heavy black leather shoe, she began to wake her up.

"Wake up, you idiot."

Brihan opened her eyes and started screaming and crying from the pain as she looked at her missing arms.

Lusihar picked up her discarded hands and threw them into her lap. Martinus came and put them back in place. Brihan intensified her aura and stuck them in place until they actually reattached to her body, and she put on a splint to prevent them from moving until the fractures healed, but until then, the pain continued, making her...

"Brihan, I can give you pain relief."

"Please."

"Come closer."

Lusihar opened her mouth with a smile, and a long thread of saliva dripped from her tongue. Brihan recoiled and turned away. Lusihar gathered her saliva and spat it away.

"It's alright, I'm a good person. I'll give you the medicine from my middle finger. Come on, open your mouth."

And from her finger came a stream of blue juice. Brihan drank it. Martinus's face contorted in disgust at the amount of weirdness, so he turned away.

"If you need anything, my little one, just tell me, hehe."

All this time, delta sigma was still distracted and hadn't come down yet. Suddenly, a ball of wine soaked her body completely, making her descend.

< Poor thing, she really burned her brain. >

The group continued walking, and after a distance, they sat down to eat lunch and continued their journey until they reached the edge of the plains. Clouds covered the lower area. It was a terrifying cliff preceded by a slope that pushed a person forward. Farid's knees began to tremble. He lay on his stomach, feeling dizzy, and began to look down. The bottom was a cliff ten kilometers high.

"Sir, didn't you want to commit suicide this morning? Come on, let's commit suicide. Why are you scared?

[Lusihar received no answer]

Alright, it looks like we'll take the long road. Let's go back."

Farid retreated, then turned around and stood up.

He found Lusihar looking at him with a suspicious smile, then she pushed him hard. He took two steps back, then fell, and the sound of his screaming faded away.

Lusihar stepped forward and followed him with a backflip that Farid saw and felt reassured by. Then the others followed.

Lusihar reached Farid and said:

"Hello, Sir Farid. How are you?"

"T-T-Tell me you are good at flying."

"No, but delta sigma will save us."

"delta sigma can barely carry herself."

"Oops! It seems we're going to die. Save your screaming for the last kilometer.

[Farid's eyes popped out of their sockets in terror, and Lusihar continued]

Heheh, I love that look. But don't worry, the human body is very solid, and the atmospheric pressure is also a reason for the air to be denser. Human bodies here are very small. We are the size of cells for some creatures, like the one over there.

[She pointed to megalophobia]

Even less than that. Fortunately, the Havenoura Archipelago does not contain ridiculously huge creatures hundreds of kilometers in size. We can withstand an impact at the terminal velocity of 200 kilometers per hour, which is the maximum speed a body reaches during its fall. And if I do a simple calculation, mmm, approximately 500 kilometers per hour, and humans can withstand 600 kilometers per hour without damage, so don't worry, the Square-Cube Law is in our favor."

Lusihar began to swim, and everyone else did the same. Farid copied them until they approached the ground. Doubt crept into him, then Lusihar opened a parachute. Here, Farid's heart literally stopped, and he continued screaming until his feet hit the ground. He somersaulted onto his shoulder, then stood up. He was surprised by how easy it was. He looked around, then at the cliff, which looked like an infinite wall in every direction.

"Got you again."

"You're FIIIIIIRED!"

"Alright, but no one will protect you from the dangers."

Farid swallowed his tongue, then they continued the path.

Then they continued their journey until night fell.
