I rarely check that old email account anymore. Honestly, I hadn't opened it in well over a year. It was something I created ages ago for random newsletter signups and promotional subscriptions I never bothered reading. My main business email handled everything that actually mattered - contracts, deals, urgent company communications.

So what could anyone possibly want with that forgotten address?

I found myself scrolling through my phone while everyone continued with dinner around me. The gentle sounds of silverware against ceramic plates created a comfortable background hum, but my attention had already drifted elsewhere entirely.

The moment I opened the email app, my focus sharpened like a blade. The sender's name made me freeze: Biotex Hospital.
