Chapter 150 - Chapter 150 Unexpected Visitor

"I haven't had much chance to know her yet, but from what little time I've spent with her, I want to learn more," Gerald said, his voice carrying a weight I hadn't heard before. His eyes stayed fixed on the space between us, avoiding direct contact. "I understand it'll take time before she's comfortable with me. That's normal for any girl her age. I plan to move slowly, and I won't reveal the truth to her yet. I can't just appear out of nowhere claiming to be her father. The emotional impact could be devastating, even for someone so young."

I watched him carefully, studying the careful way he chose each word.

"So that's the real reason you insisted on driving her to school this morning," I said, the pieces finally clicking into place.

He didn't try to deny it. A simple nod confirmed everything I suspected.

"Wait a minute," I said, my eyes narrowing as an awful possibility crept into my mind. "Please tell me you're not planning what I think you might be planning."
