Chapter 39 - Do what needs to be done

I sat there for a long while after Isobel had left, and I just kept staring at the empty chair that she had just been sitting in.

The words she had said to me still echoed in my head like a broke record and no matter how hard I tried to get rid of it, it became stronger and it haunted me.

I let out a deep sigh and out of frustration, I gripped the table so hard until my knuckles turned white. She thought I was the one running?

She had every reason to believe that because if I was being honest with myself, she was right. She had rejected me but I refused to accept her rejection and blatantly told her that it was my greatest wish to make her life a living hell.

When I said those words to her, I really meant it, but now, I didn't know anymore. I clenched my jaw and leaned back in my chair, and then I sighed deeply.

Isobel made me forget how to act and it was making me feel so frustrated and irritated with myself. I had never been so confused and lost in my life.
