Chapter 155 - Silver Spear Subdues Demons, Leaving No Troubles

Whether Zhou Yi heard Natasha's prayer, no one knew, but he arrived in front of Natasha right on time.

A long Silver Spear descended from the sky with a massive roar, the resulting gales and shockwaves even flipping over the surrounding cars. The force of the sound shattered all the glass nearby. Like a flash of silver lightning, the spear had pierced through the monster's body.

The kinetic energy instantly ripped apart its chest; Adamantium was naturally not something a monster's body could withstand. Although the monster struggled desperately in pain, it was dragged by the spear, plowing a long furrow across the road before being pinned firmly to the ground.

By this point, the monster's upper body was almost nonexistent. The energy radiating from the spear had torn a huge wound through the middle of its body. If it weren't for its tenacious life force, this single blow would have been enough to finish it off.

Even now, the monster was in a terrible state, with only its lower body still standing, connected to some skin and flesh, along with its head and other parts. Although it was clear to see everything was rapidly healing, it would still take some time just to recover all those parts.

"How did you provoke this thing? I thought a smart woman like you would know which ones you can mess with and which ones you can't."

Zhou Yi appeared beside Natasha, looking at her body, which was still trembling slightly, with a gloating smile on his face.

His appearance seemed to give Natasha immense courage; her body immediately stopped trembling, and she softly knelt on the ground. The will to survive had given her the strength to act just now, so when her savior appeared, she was like a jellyfish with its spine removed.

Although her body was completely drained of strength, Natasha refused to show any weakness with her words.

"I know I can't afford to provoke that thing, but does it matter if I think I can't? That thing has been chasing me all the way, ignoring everything else. What can I do?"

"You should be happy. It shows you're charming enough to tempt even that thing."

"Thank you for the compliment, but I'm not interested in that kind of thing," Natasha waved her hand, pointing at the girl in her arms. "That's its target. If it weren't for protecting this little girl, I wouldn't be in this situation."

Zhou Yi sized up the little girl. She had short, golden hair and a school uniform. Although she looked cute, she wasn't the type to attract monsters, especially one of the top-tier bio-monsters in Raccoon City.

So he looked at Natasha again. Only this person, who had stolen Umbrella's information, would understand what was going on.

"This is Sherry Birkin. That monster is William Birkin, her father." After introducing their identities, Natasha began to explain in detail.

"Dr. William Birkin is the developer of the G-Virus. Umbrella has been eyeing this new virus for a long time. Yesterday, they attacked the lab, trying to seize Dr. William's research results. As you can see, Dr. William turned into this, and Umbrella didn't get what they wanted."

"I don't have the skills to get the G-Virus from Dr. William Birkin in this state, so I thought I'd see if I could get something from his family. Dr. William Birkin's wife was also his research assistant, so maybe she had some data stored with her."

"But I was too late. She had already died at the hands of a bunch of monsters. I only found this child. For some reason, another spy was also looking for her, and that monster was relentlessly pursuing her."

"So you think this child has some secret that makes people want to protect her at all costs. Isn't that a bit reckless?" Zhou Yi raised an eyebrow. Risking your life for a guess isn't something a spy would do.

Natasha heard what he meant and retorted slyly.

"With you backing me up, what do I have to fear? I just have to call you at a critical moment, right!"

Zhou Yi smiled, looking at the monster that had almost recovered.

This monster, transformed from William Birkin, had recovered its original form thanks to its super regeneration ability. It had even gone a step further, becoming an even more terrifying sight.

Before, it had a giant hand paired with a small hand, looking deformed and bizarre, especially the huge eye on its right shoulder, which was terrifying and disgusting. But now, its appearance had changed drastically.

The eyeball on his right arm shrunk slightly, and his left arm transformed into a giant claw. However, unlike the other hand, this one didn't have any eyes growing on it because the eye had grown on his thigh.

As the two large hands became symmetrical, a pair of new arms emerged from his chest and abdomen. They took the place of the original arms, pushing the two giant hands onto his back, making them look like deformed wings.

At the same time, many strange objects protruded from the monster's right chest, turning into spiky decorations that wrapped around it like a breastplate. Layers of muscles also spread out, growing like intertwined vines all over the monster's body. These muscles made him no longer appear bloated, but instead, looked more powerful and terrifying.

"It looks a lot like a guy I saw before, but this one has a stronger sense of self. Is it because of the virus, or is it a matter of species?" Seeing this monster, Zhou Yi thought of a vampire who had also turned into a monster. There seemed to be a connection between them.

The monster William didn't care what Zhou Yi was thinking. He grabbed the Silver Spear stuck in his waist with his new hands and roared as he pulled it out. Filthy liquid gushed out like a fountain, and in this fountain, the monster William held the Silver Spear with all four hands, throwing it back with force.

Even though the Silver Spear whistled like thunder, its power couldn't compare to the earth-shattering blow from before. Natasha watched coldly, a sneer on her lips.

A mere monster wanted to compete with the most powerful hero. Even if this hero only revealed a small part of their strength, it wasn't something a creature like this, neither human nor ghost, could provoke.

The Silver Spear drew a white line in the air, piercing straight towards Zhou Yi, who stood still. The instant the Silver Spear left his hand, he braced himself with the two giant hands on his back and leaped into the air, pouncing down. The monster William's vengeful, beastly nature made him see Zhou Yi as the primary target, so he chose Zhou Yi as his target for the pounce.

The Silver Spear flew towards him in a flash. Zhou Yi tilted his body slightly to avoid the sharp tip, then grabbed it with one hand, as if seizing a giant python by its vulnerable spot. The Silver Spear immediately became obedient, held firmly in his grasp.

At that moment, the monster William pounced from above, its giant claws behind it striking down like shovels. If they hit, a mortal body would surely be torn in two.

Zhou Yi wasn't afraid of this damage, but he didn't want to be touched by such filthy things. He twisted his waist and, in mid-air, delivered a counter-thrust with the Silver Spear towards the monster William.

The spearhead first pierced between the two giant claws. Zhou Yi shook the spear, and with a sweep, he harshly knocked the two giant claws apart to both sides. Then, with a flick of the spearhead, the sharp blade directly sliced open half of the monster William's face.

The monster William screamed. Its newly grown hands desperately grasped Zhou Yi's Silver Spear, trying to take back the weapon that had hurt it. But Zhou Yi's Silver Spear kept shaking, the thick and long spear sounds undulating like restless venomous dragons. The silver scales carved on the spear were sharper than steel knives at this moment. Upon contact with the monster's hands, a rain of blood mixed with fragmented flesh immediately fell.

The monster William howled, but its wild nature still made it want to desperately hold onto the Silver Spear. If its new hands couldn't do it, it would use its giant hands, which had recovered. But before its giant hands could reach, the spear, having been raised to a certain height, was already slashing down from the air.

The silver spear brushed out a hazy shadow, fiercely striking the monster William's body. This strike was like a thunderclap out of nowhere, a layer of blood mist mixed with air waves spreading into the air. Then came the sound of sparse bone and flesh rotting continuously.

The monster William's huge body was whipped to the ground like a tattered sack, and the hard asphalt concrete exploded with cracks because of the impact. After this strike, it basically lost the ability to move.

Zhou Yi's casual strike, though seemingly effortless, packed a force of tens of thousands of kilograms. It was impossible for a monster mutated by a virus to withstand such a blow. Its entire skeletal structure and muscles had been utterly destroyed, and it was only its tenacity that kept it alive.

Looking at the monster William, now just a mass of pulped flesh stuck to the ground with only his chest still heaving, Natasha approached. She glanced at it with disgust and asked, "Is that it? As expected, something unfinished, no matter how strong, is still flawed."

"There will never be a 'finished' version of this thing," Zhou Yi's eyes flashed with a cold light as a spark ignited at his feet. In an instant, the monster William was engulfed in flames. The crackling of burning fat and the monster William's weak cries mingled, causing the girl in Natasha's arms to close her eyes, tears streaming down her face.

Natasha silently stroked her hair, watching as the monster William was completely incinerated. Only after the flames died down did she speak, "Another tragedy. This poor child will have no one to rely on now."

"Now is not the time to dwell on that. Where is the T-Virus data?" Ignoring the irrelevant question, Zhou Yi asked the most crucial one. This was the real priority.

(In the next two or three days, my teacher will be checking the progress of my graduation design. I haven't been working on it much, so I'll have to work hard these next few days. After these few days, the updates will return to normal. I'm really sorry.)
