Kane's POV
They took our weapons and our bags and marched us further up into the mountains. Their gazes were fixated on us with hate, growling at every single step we took.
"Did you fall asleep?" Valerie asked with a scornful look.
"Will you really ask me that? Of course I fell asleep," I replied. "What do you think I am, a plant? Hell, even they fall asleep."
"The brutal alpha fell asleep with a lady in his arms," she scowled. "And now you're letting a bunch of half-naked, painted men carry us up a mountain to goddess-knows-where."
"Both of you," the man who had held the spear to me earlier spoke. "Quiet!"
"I would be, if you at least told us who you are," I replied, but there was no response. We kept walking, and soon we reached a dead end. It was just a rock in the way, yet they looked unfazed.
