The battlefield looked like the end of the world. Thick black smoke covered everything, making it hard to see or breathe. Broken buildings stood like broken teeth. Huge rocks and pieces of concrete blocked the roads. Dead bodies of heroes from different countries lay scattered around — members of the Justice League who had come from all over the world to fight. They had lost so many already.
Green Lantern pushed a massive stone block out of his way with a grunt. His green energy ring glowed weakly on his finger. His eyes moved quickly from side to side, trying to find any sign of life in the destruction. "You have got to be kidding me!" he shouted in anger and shock. "This can't be real!"
He tapped the small communicator in his ear. "Justice League, come in! This is Green Lantern. Who's still alive out there?"
A deep, calm voice answered first. "This is Batman. Report in, everyone. Status."
Green Lantern spoke quickly. "This is Lantern. I'm alive. I'm just a few meters away from where we were standing before the last explosion. It's bad here, Batman. Really bad."
"Shazam here. I'm alive... barely. I'm going back in for another attack. Zeus and Kratos are with me. We're not done yet."
"Be careful, Billy. At the end of the day, you're still just a kid inside that body. Don't push yourself too far."
In the background, people could hear Batman's fingers flying across his keyboard. His computer screen lit up in the dark Batmobile showing maps, damage reports, and life signs.
"This is Martian Manhunter. I'm with Flash. He's barely alive. His legs are crushed under rubble, and his neck is hurt badly. Green Arrow is... he's gone. That energy ball went straight through his stomach. I'm requesting immediate teleportation for Flash, myself, and Green Arrow's body. We need to get them out now."
Batman answered fast,"Teleportation system is locked and ready, J'onn. Hang on. Don't let Flash die on us. We will not lose another one today. Batman replied."
"This is Cyborg. I'm moving in to back up Green Lantern. Aquaman is with me. We're on our way."
That's Good. "All members who are still alive and able to move — get to the injured and the dead. Help carry them to safety. Shazam, Zeus, and Kratos are giving us some cover right now. Use it. Move fast."
Far away from the ruined streets, in what used to be the proud Daily Planet building — now half collapsed and covered in dust — the real fight approaching steadily.
Goku stood there, but his eyes sharp and cold. Three heroes approached him slowly. He looked at them, "You three again. I will kill you all properly this time. No more games."
Superman moved like lightning. Out of nowhere, he threw a devastating punch straight into Goku's face. The power was so huge that Goku flew backward and crashed hard into the ground. The impact was like an earthquake. The whole city's floor cracked open. Buildings around them fell like cards. Dust and smoke rose high, making the already dark day even darker.
The ground kept shaking. "Buuuuuuuum!" A deep, heavy sound echoed everywhere.
Batman's voice came over the comms again. "What was that? Someone, anyone — what's the situation? My cameras just went blind. What's happening at the daily planet?"
"Superman is back, Batman. And this time, he's not holding back at all." Cyborg answered while flying fast through the air with Green Lantern and Aquaman beside him.
"What about Metropolis?" Batman asked quickly.
Green Lantern replied, his voice heavy. "It's no longer a city, Batman. It's just ruins now. This fight is getting too big. Soon it will be beyond anything we can control."
Inside the destroyed Daily Planet area, Shazam looked at Superman with wide eyes and a small smile. Clark's whole body was covered in bright yellow energy. His eyes glowed pure red. He looked stronger than ever. "It's good to have you back, Supe," Shazam said. "I can't believe it. You look... unstoppable."
Superman nodded. "Yeah, it feels good. My power has grown so much — it multiplied tremendously. But even now, it's still not enough to stop him. We have to give everything we have. Let's go all out."
Zeus rose into the sky, floating among the clouds. He lifted both hands high. Bright lightning bolts shot down from the sky and entered his body. His eyes turned pure white. All his wounds closed instantly. He looked young and powerful again.
Kratos stood firm on the broken ground. His red tattoos glowed. The Blades of Chaos — those famous chained weapons that burned with fire — were in his hands. Red-hot lava seemed to flow around the blades. "His blood will overflow on my blade," Kratos growled, taking a strong fighting stance.
The ground started shaking even harder. Small stones and big boulders lifted into the air by themselves, floating like they had no weight.
Green Lantern looked at the scene and shook his head slowly. "Well, this is not good. Two things are going to happen here. Either we survive because he decides to let us live... or we die because he decides to kill us. That's it."
Cyborg turned to him while they kept flying forward. "Seriously? You don't believe we can win against him?"
Lantern sighed. "We cannot. Not really. But I'm still going to fight anyway. It's better than standing still and doing nothing. And we also need to rescue Wonder Woman soon. She's still trapped.
"Let's defeat him first. Then we rescue Diana." Aquaman joined the conversation.
The shaking got worse. More buildings crashed down. Roads split open like the earth was tearing itself apart.
Suddenly, a huge scream filled the air. "Haaaaaaaaaa! Haaaaa!" Everyone heard it — even people miles away.
Then golden light exploded from under the ground. It shot up high, reaching into space itself. Goku slowly floated up into the air. Blue lightning crackled and sparked around his body. His hair turned bright golden, standing up wild. His eyes became shining gold.
The air around him got hot very fast, like standing near a fire.
Shazam smirked. "Wow. Really flashy entrance."
Goku looked at them calmly. "This is Super Saiyan. Now give me your best shot."
He charged straight at Superman.
Superman shouted, "Give it everything, everyone!" He dashed forward too, screaming with power. Both of them moved so fast they broke the sound barrier in seconds. They reached speeds close to light itself.
Their fists met in the middle with a mighty crash. The force created a huge explosion. The sky itself seemed to crack open. Strong winds blasted out, sending Zeus and Shazam flying backward through buildings like ragdolls.
Kratos dug his Blades of Chaos deep into the ground to hold on. The chains pulled tight as he fought not to fly away.
Goku spoke while they traded blows. "You're stronger now." He kicked Superman hard in the face. Superman answered almost instantly with a powerful punch. Both got pushed back from the force.
Kratos roared, "Don't forget about me!" He jumped high into the air. His blades swung down toward Goku with full power.
Goku turned his golden energy into a sharp sword shape in his right hand. He dashed toward Kratos to meet the attack.
But right then, Zeus dropped a massive lightning strike from above. It hit Goku square on the back and slammed him down into the ground, creating a new crater.
Superman didn't wait. He flew down through the smoke like a missile. He brought both hands together for a double-fisted smash.
Goku recovered fast. He fired a powerful ki blast right at Superman's ribs. The explosion was huge. It threw Superman far away — miles into the already destroyed parts of the city.
