HEARTFILIA'S POV
I was going down the stairs to breakfast. I was still in the living room, but I could already smell what he was cooking. Yes, he is the one who is cooking. I will not poison him, not again.
We aren't even allowed to hire a maid. Crazy, right? Our parents' motivations are just totally and utterly incomprehensible. We're just getting dragged into the mess of their lives. Tsk!
When I came into the kitchen, I ignored him and just sat down in my chair. I was still feeling a bit awkward towards him because of his actions last night. I also was a little anxious about the fact that perhaps his friends had seen me at the UG last night.
As I was about to take my food, he suddenly spoke.
"That's not for you," he said, not even looking at me. I scowled.
I stood up from my chair with a thump in annoyance.
"Fine, keep it all to yourself! I hope you choke on it!!" I said, snapping at him.
I walked out of the kitchen and gathered my things from the sofa. That jerk-as if his cooking is so amazing. I left the house.
I slammed the door shut out of sheer frustration. Mang Ador opened the car door for me, my Mommy's personal driver.
I quickly got in, and he also got in. He started the engine.
I was silent during the drive, already hungry. You're such a jerk! I hope the stomach of whoever eats your food hurts, you idiot! I stopped brooding when Mang Ador spoke.
"Miss, we're here."
I looked around, I was already in school. I really am spaced out lately.
He opened the door for me. As I got out, several of the students stared. Oh well, nothing new-all I get from them is judgment anyhow.
I just ignored them. I went straight to the cafeteria to eat since I really did feel hungry.
I was barely through the doorway when my two friends waved at me. Then I ran over to them.
"Oh my gosh, gay best friend! Don't run!" Joseph yelled, and I was confused.
What's new about that? I always run. But the moment I reached them, I sat down right away.
"You bitch, why are you running? Oh no, your baby might fall out," Nicole said worriedly.
I frowned.
"My baby? What?" I asked.
"Oh, come on, Filia, stop playing innocent. Ha! The whole school already knows you're pregnant. See? Your two mothers-in-law are so supportive, so don't forget to make us godparents," the gay best friend explained.
What did he say I was? Pregnant? But how?
"What?!" I shouted. All the blood rushed to my face.
"Relax, Filia, think about the baby," they said to calm me down. My face was a mess.
"I am not pregnant," I said, irritated.
"Oh, stop denying it!" Nicole said, giving me a crazy smile.
"Serious," I insisted, growing more frustrated. What is happening?
"Seriously, Filia, having a husband as handsome as yours, and you two living under the same roof, you're telling us that nothing has happened yet? Oh, come on! If you weren't my best friend, I would have assaulted your husband a long time ago, and we would have four kids by now. We'd be happy, we'd be in love—"
Joseph did not get a chance to finish his sentence because Nicole punched him.
Oowwhh, you poor thing, gay best friend.
"You've been overly ambitious of late! And you, pregnant-when did you even grow a uterus?!" Nicole snapped, irritated.
"Ouch, Nicole, you're such a buzzkill. But back to the topic, seriously, Filia, you're not pregnant?" he asked again. I just sighed.
"No, I'm not, what's your problem!" was my frustrated answer.
"Your mother-in-law just left the school. That's the current rumor here."
Good grief, what variety of craziness have those two- the parents-gotten into now? This is too much. Because I couldn't take it anymore, I just grabbed those two witches' food. I didn't want to hear what they were talking about anymore. I would just get stressed out, and I'd get ugly before my time.
Why does it have to be this way? Why do they have to preempt us? We aren't children anymore for them to be treating us this way. Don't they understand that we can't yet, that we're still studying?!
"Hey, you finished my food!" Nicole scolded me. I ignored her. I just kept eating because I was hungry. If only you knew, that man is starving me!
Does he know about this yet? He should know by now, so he could talk to his parents about it! This rumor is just going to mess up my life even more. I'm going to suffer again because of his annoying girls. This is crazy; even I am being dragged into this. I was minding my own business!
"You eat like a starving person," my best gay friend reprimanded me, and I rolled my eyes at him.
"Order me some more!" I ordered him. I was stressed; all I wanted to do was eat and eat.
"She's pregnant, stop complaining," Nicole quickly said. He had no choice but to stand up and order food.
"They say that when you're pregnant, your appetite increases," I said, looking at Nicole. I stopped chewing. No, no! Don't believe what they're saying.
"Did you guys do that?" she asked, pressing her two fingers together. I frowned. What is that?
"What that?" I asked. I pressed my fingers together too. She nodded. Is she referring to kissing? I covered my mouth.
"If you do that, you'll get pregnant?" I asked again. She nodded again, but this time, there was a smile on her lips.
I didn't know how to feel—annoyed, happy, or tearful? This can't be happening. What about my studies? I don't want to walk on stage with a huge stomach; that is embarrassing. What will people say?
"Here's your food!" he grumbled, the gay best friend. I immediately dug into the food he had given me. I could feel them staring at me, so I looked at both of them.
They were just smiling, just looking crazy with all that smiling. I frowned: I am not ready for this. What am I going to do?
