When they arrived at the Song family villa, Song Yue finally stirred.
Her lashes fluttered, and she lifted her head slowly, still half lost in sleep. The familiar outline of the gate came into view.
"We're home," Nie Rougang said gently. His voice was low, careful not to startle her. "Go inside."
She climbed down from the car, steadying herself, then turned back to look at him. "Aren't you coming?"
"In a moment," he replied calmly.
She hesitated, then nodded and walked toward the villa. Only after her figure disappeared through the door did Nie Rougang lean back slightly and exhale, the tension he'd been holding finally loosening.
Inside the villa, Song Yue immediately sensed something was off.
Song Weisha stood not far away, her posture rigid, her expression sharp and resentful, the hostility barely concealed behind a polite mask. The moment their eyes met, sparks seemed to crackle in the air.
Song Yue smiled faintly and walked over as if nothing were wrong.
