Chapter 53 - Chapter 53 Flora and Fauna Around Silver City

Audrey's exclamation of "justice" expressed the sentiments of everyone.

As a group of "middle-sequence" and "low-sequence" extraordinary beings, they could hardly imagine that a demigod could possess such bizarre and unpredictable abilities.

Perhaps after being "parasitized," one's best friend becomes completely another person's puppet, and those around them are unaware of it.

"The Sun" Derrick deduced: "The person living next door to me is very likely being parasitized by Amon in the second way?"

"That's possible," Odis said, shrugging. "But I'm not sure."

"The Magician" Fors exclaimed, "It's hard to imagine that such an ability exists."

Odis smiled and said, "As far as I know, once you reach the demigod level, your extraordinary abilities seem to undergo a qualitative change."

He then said to Derrick, "When you come into contact with the person next to you after the party, be careful. If you feel uncomfortable, ask for help immediately."

"Thank you for reminding me." Derrick also realized that the person next door was in great danger.

He paused for a moment before coming to his senses, asked "The Fool" Klein for paper and pen, "expressed" the potion recipe, and handed it to "The Hermit".

Odis took it and glanced at it: Sequence 9: The Singer

Main materials: a crystallized sunflower or the tail feather of an adult firebird or a firebird, a siren stone or a singing sunflower.

Additional materials: one Midsummer Grass, five drops of July Wine Juice, and one Elf Dark Leaf.

He only needed to glance at it to remember it perfectly, and then, under the control of his mind, the paper in his hand first became illusory and then quickly disappeared.

Odis then said to "Little Sun": "After the last gathering, I gathered some information about the 'Forsaken Land'."

"This reminds me of a very interesting question, and I'd like to discuss it with you."

Both Klein and Alger the Hanged Man noticed a detail: The Hermit had access to information about the Forsaken Land.

The "Forsaken Land" isn't exactly a high-level secret in the Extraordinary World, but information about it mostly exists in the form of legends or rumors, making it difficult to obtain useful information.

The church or some extraordinary families might have some definite information, but it would be very difficult to trade for it.

This seems to confirm Klein and Alger's earlier speculation that the "Hermit" had special intelligence channels.

This was, of course, a signal deliberately released by Odis, who knew so much astonishing history and intelligence, so astonishing that he only dared to trade that intelligence at the Tarot Meeting.

With this groundwork laid, if we continue to lay it out a few more times, even if we later trade information about the fall of the "Ancient Sun God," it won't arouse much suspicion.

Derrick, however, didn't think that far ahead: "What do you want to know about the 'Forsaken Land'?"

In his view, the information the "Hermit" had just provided was more valuable than a Sequence 9 potion recipe, so he would actively answer the "Hermit's" questions.

Everyone else listened attentively to the conversation between the two, curious about what interesting question the "hermit" had come up with.

"Are there still animals in the 'Land Forsaken by the Gods'?" Odis asked. "Are there still plants?"

Alger frowned slightly: What's the question?

Klein, behind the gray fog, seemed to understand something: I had almost forgotten that this "hermit" was a research talent. Such people often conduct amazing research in seemingly ordinary places and get amazing answers.

Audrey also sensed that the issue might take a very profound turn.

"Yes…" Derrick paused for a moment before answering, "But… but it might be different from the plants and animals you have there."

"They are more like monsters, most of them are highly poisonous or have strong aggression."

Odis continued, "Please describe in detail the two animals and the two plants."

"Okay." Derrick nodded and said, "Not far north of Silver City, there is a swamp where there is a fish with fangs and a deadly poison."

"They're similar to the loaches described in textbooks, but the difference is that some can grow as tall as an adult and can stay on land for a long time. If you get close to a swamp, they'll rush out and attack humans..."

Fors tried to imagine a fish chasing a person: what a wonderful world.

"There's a kind of insect in the east of the city that likes to suck blood and brain marrow," Derrick continued. "It's about as long and as thick as an adult's index finger, and it always moves in swarms."

"Whether it encounters a human or any other animal, they will use their sharp mouthparts to burrow into the animal's body. If not dealt with in time, it can even burrow into the brain..."

Audrey frowned, feeling a little disgusted and a little terrified.

Odis then asked further, "What do these two creatures usually eat?"

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Derrick replied, "Monster."

He further explained: "'The Forsaken Land' is teeming with humanoid or bizarre monsters."

Odis slowly nodded, making a gesture that said, "Please continue."

Derrick continued, "Not far from the swamp north of the city, there is a plant with sharp thorns and rope-like vines."

"Besides having roots that can absorb water and nutrients from the soil, they can also hunt animals or monsters."

"Some of these vines have suckers, and some have different toxins on their barbs. We occasionally collect these vines to extract the toxins for use."

Alger then realized that "The Sun" had been attending the Tarot meeting for so long, yet he had never thought to inquire about such common news as "The Forsaken Land." He had only listened to Alger's descriptions of these animals and plants, yet he already had a profound understanding of life in "The Forsaken Land."

With a sigh, he glanced at the "hermit," still not understanding the other's purpose.

When he mentioned the last plant, Derrick finally smiled: "Blackface Grass is everywhere in our Silver City."

"Its color is completely black, and its leaves can be ground into food after they mature. It is because of the existence of black-faced grass that most of us have not mutated or become deformed."

"This is a gift from God, and it is our hope to persevere."

Seeing the "sun's" smile, Audrey took a deep breath and smiled back, saying, "Yes, it must be the hope that the gods have given you."

At this moment, she felt a little sorry for "Little Sun," because he must have never eaten cheese or toast.

Sitting at the very bottom, "The World" reminded us in a deep voice: "The normality within the abnormal is itself a kind of abnormality."
