"The Hermit" Odis glanced at "The Sun" Derrick beside him and saw that he was much relieved. He knew that the boy, just as "The Fool" Klein had expected, had misunderstood and thought that "The Fool" had given an affirmative answer.
After Diocletian finally felt relieved, he asked, "Have you ever heard of Amon?"
"Justice" Audrey looked at "The Hanged Man" Alger, remembering that Mr. Hanged Man had mentioned this name before.
Klein recalled the relevant knowledge, but in order to maintain the mysterious image of "The Fool," he did not rush to answer.
"The Magician" Fors listened blankly; the name was already outside her comprehension.
Alger countered, "During your exploration of the surrounding area, did you encounter a person who called himself Amon?"
"Or perhaps a similar record has been discovered?"
Derrick nodded seriously and said, "Yes, forty-two years ago, an exploration team encountered a man who called himself Amon. After returning to Silver City, they all went insane and out of control. Only the captain of that exploration team was left, and he was imprisoned at the bottom of the round tower, right next to mine."
"Maybe he's gone mad too, but that's just wishful thinking," Fors, who has extensive experience in novel writing, offered a guess.
Alger replied, "Imagination is one possibility, but the name 'Amon' wouldn't come up without a reason."
He turned his head to look at the "sun" and said, "Fifteen hundred years ago in our country, or even longer, there was a family that possessed strange powers. They belonged to the Tudor Dynasty and their surname was Amon."
"A message came from Nast, the 'King of the Five Seas,' that the Amon family is a blasphemous family, and they possess the secret to stealing the power of the gods!"
Everyone was confused. They felt that "stealing the secrets of divine power" sounded impressive, but they didn't know what it specifically referred to.
Odis said, "I do know some information about Amon."
This is his second time attending the meeting, so there's no need to hide anything like last time. In addition, he plans to conduct a few small transactions at this gathering, making good use of the Tarot Club's channels.
After sensing that everyone was looking at him, Odis continued, "You should all have heard of the 'Thief' pathway. I have some information about this pathway. When they are in the 'low sequence,' they steal things, and when they are in the 'middle sequence,' they are said to be able to steal ideas and extraordinary abilities."
"It's only a temporary theft."
Alger also knew similar information. Connecting it with what he had just said, he suddenly had a bold conjecture: "You mean, once they reach the 'higher sequence,' they can steal the power of the gods?"
Upon hearing this, everyone except Odis suddenly felt a chill run down their spines.
Even Alger was somewhat surprised: I... how could I have such a thought? This is blasphemy against the gods! How could the power of the gods be stolen...?
Finally, he had to admit: Well, this idea does seem to make sense.
Klein, who was behind the gray fog, had a similar thought: What a strange power.
Audrey, on the other hand, calmly recalled some information she had received at the Tarot meeting: since every pathway has a Sequence 0, it is not unacceptable that the Sequence 0 of the "Thief" pathway can steal the power of other gods.
She gave the "Hermit" a deep look: as long as there is information in this regard, it is not difficult to make this connection, but people generally would not make this connection because it is too blasphemous! But the "Hermit" had obviously thought of this long ago.
Derrick understood the meaning of "Hermit" and asked, "Mr. Hermit, are you saying that the Amon family controls the 'Thief' pathway?"
"Yes," Odis replied affirmatively. "Another piece of information that I am quite certain of is that Amon is a descendant of the 'Ancient Sun God'."
After he finished speaking, he gave Derrick a deep look.
But Odis saw that the "little sun" was frowning and deep in thought, which made him realize that the little sun did not yet know that the "ancient sun god" was their "omniscient and omnipotent creator".
Odis continued, "I have even more valuable information, but it requires a transaction."
Derrick immediately replied, "I'm willing to make the deal."
But then he said somewhat embarrassedly, "But I don't have any gold pounds."
"It's alright," Odis said. "I happen to have other needs."
He asked, knowing the answer already, "What path did you take to become an extraordinary person?"
"A hymn singer!" Derrick replied immediately.
Odis said, "I need you to trade the potion recipe of the 'Singer' and some knowledge of the 'Forsaken Land'."
Derrick immediately nodded and said, "Okay."
Klein, behind the gray fog, thought to himself: As expected, the new members are still interested in the "Forsaken Land".
Audrey recalled her suspicions about the "Hermit" after attending the last Tarot meeting. At this moment, she suddenly had a new idea: it seemed that the "Hermit" did indeed know a lot of information about the "Forsaken Land" in advance. His surprise before seemed a bit abnormal, probably because he did not expect the "Sun" to come from the "Forsaken Land".
Thinking of this, Audrey smiled slightly: When I first learned that the "Sun" came from the "Forsaken Land", I was just as surprised as the "Hermit".
Odis then asked, "The transactions in the Tarot Club can be discussed privately, right? Do you want to listen by yourself, or with everyone else?"
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
Audrey replied enthusiastically, "Yes, you can just ask Mr. Fool."
"Everyone, please listen," Derrick said. "This is to thank everyone for their advice and help over the years."
Audrey felt somewhat ashamed because the help was mostly given by Mr. Hanged Man, and she had offered almost nothing in return.
"Alright." Odis continued, "I believe everyone is familiar with the concept of demigods, so I don't need to explain it."
"I have received definite information that after the 'Thief' reached the level of a demigod, he had an ability called 'Parasitism'."
"This ability allows demigods of this pathway to hide within the bodies of other people."
Klein behind the gray fog: Uh... This reminds me of a certain poet classmate. I wonder how he is doing now.
He then thought: This is a very strange method. I should stay away from "thieves" in the future!
Alger couldn't help but frown: This is the power of a demigod! Just as the legends said, a qualitative change has occurred!
Derrick thought of the exploration team leader next door: "Mr. Hermit, are you saying that Amon, whom the exploration team encountered more than forty years ago, was hiding inside the person next door?"
"Let me finish speaking first," Odis continued. "There are two types of 'parasitism.' The first type is the 'thief' pathway to demigods, which parasitizes the body of the 'host.'"
"Such situations rarely occur, because the thoughts and ideas of the 'host' are a kind of interference to the 'thief' demigods, and they only do this when they lose their bodies."
"Another possibility is that the 'Thief' demigod creates a special, clone-like entity that 'parasitizes' another person's body."
"Such 'parasitism' usually goes unnoticed, and the 'clone' will gradually take over the 'host's' body and mind, eventually turning him into its puppet."
Audrey exclaimed in surprise, "What terrifying power!"
