Chapter 9 - The Art of tasting a name

The art of tasting a name is nothing easy.

First, you sip the syllables, unwrap the vowels,

Grate the letters with fickle teeth, you see

It takes a tease, buttered like honey, and then

You lick the letters into submission.

The art of tasting a name is nothing easy.

Some names are vinegar, to be spat out

As soon as it enters, Some hit your mouth

With a rigidity that slaps your cheek, Some

Swim right down to your stomach with no prelude.

A name like yours, it hovers

On my lips like a turbulent mixture

Of sin and salvation, it spews forth

Promises of Bliss, so I roll the letters

Swallow them whole, so they do not get away .
