Chapter 50 – The Sins of the Fathers

"Madara's clan… is gone?"

Only Tobirama caught the keywords "explosion" and "destruction."

Combined with Hiruzen's devastated expression, the picture became clear.

"An evil-blooded Uchiha brat…"

"And the other one carries the fox's chakra. So the jinchuriki defected too."

In seconds, Tobirama had pieced together most of the disaster.

"The monkey did a terrible job as Hokage."

Uchiha clan wiped out, disciple turned traitor, village jinchuriki in open rebellion.

Any one of those was a death sentence on a Hokage's resume.

Naruto caught Tobirama's muttering and grinned.

"First Hokage isn't the only one who lost his favorite clan, Second-sama."

"The Senju clan—and the Uzumaki clan—were exterminated even cleaner than the Uchiha."

He looked at the two undead Hokages with playful malice.

"What did you say? The Senju are gone?"

Tobirama's brows slammed together.

He spread his senses beyond the barrier.

Orochimaru helpfully loosened the bindings further—he was dying to see Tobirama's face when the truth hit.

Minutes passed.

No matter how wide Tobirama searched, not a single Senju signature.

Not even the branch families he'd ordered to integrate into the village.

Nawaki's chakra… Tsunade's little brother… gone.

Tsunade herself… gone.

Tobirama's face turned thundercloud black.

Uchiha extinction? Fine. That clan was a ticking bomb anyway; he'd planned to keep them suppressed forever.

But the Senju? His own bloodline erased?

Unacceptable.

"Monkey. I want an explanation."

His voice was arctic.

Hashirama turned too.

"What happened to Madara's clan? Why are they gone?"

The air inside the barrier turned suffocating.

And everyone—inside and outside—collectively lost it at Hashirama's priorities.

"This guy's true love really is Uchiha Madara…"

Hidden in the stands, Aike and the girls were having the time of their lives eating melon.

"True love?"

Nami and Carina leaned in instantly.

Even calm Izumi and gentle Kaya perked up like gossip radars.

Izumi especially—her ancestor's love life? She was all ears.

Aike didn't hold back.

He gave them the full, dramatic saga of Hashirama × Madara: the tragic bromance that founded and nearly destroyed the village.

Back inside the Four Violet Flames.

Hiruzen was sweating bullets.

Tell the truth and the two undead legends would pulp him on the spot.

So he did what any good politician does—threw his best friend under the bus.

"Sorry, Danzo."

"I can't carry this pot. You're the one who actually did it."

Meanwhile, Danzo—still hiding in his bunker waiting for news of Hiruzen's death—had no idea a mountain-sized cauldron was about to land on his head.

"Sensei, this was all Danzo's doing."

"Right after you passed, the Second Shinobi War broke out. Konoha was exhausted from the first one and struggling against the other villages."

"Many people wanted to recreate Wood Style to end the war quickly, so…"

"So you used Senju clansmen as test subjects," Tobirama finished, voice dripping venom.

He was the original mad scientist—he knew exactly how those experiments went.

He had done them himself.

But that didn't make it forgivable.

"I only want to know one thing," Hashirama cut in, suddenly deadly serious.

"Where are Nawaki and Tsunade?"

"Tsunade is wandering the shinobi world. She hasn't returned to the village in years," Hiruzen answered weakly.
