Chapter 40 - Chapter 40 — Mobilizing a Dimensional Army Dimensional City — War Council Hall

"Great! Kagaya, your suggestion is truly wonderful!"

Takumi's eyes sparkled with excitement, practically glowing with the light of a man who had just discovered a new cheat code.

"So this means we can go back and take a little bit of everything?"

Kagaya Ubuyashiki gave a gentle smile.

"Food, resources, materials… whatever we need."

Takumi nodded vigorously.

This was an entire world's worth of resources—why take only food?

Take building materials? Yes.

Take industrial tools? Yes.

Take daily necessities? Yes.

Take women—

No.

If he took those, Rimuru would personally vaporize him.

In short, Takumi had opened the door to a new world… and was fully prepared to plunder it responsibly.

He clapped his hands.

"Everyone! Think about what else we need! I'll make a list!"

The responses burst out instantly.

"Lord Takumi! Our engineering department urgently needs construction tools!"

"Lord Takumi! We're running low on medicinal herbs! Lord Rimuru's healing potions help, but we still can't mass-produce them!"

"Takumi! The school needs textbooks! You only brought elementary ones. We need advanced textbooks too!"

"And… maybe bring back some teachers?"

Takumi stared blankly at Shizue.

"…Shizu. Did you just ask me to kidnap teachers?"

She glared.

"Don't look at me like that! I'll be teaching millions of children later! Do you expect me to teach alone?! The other teachers only know combat!"

Takumi felt a cold sweat slide down his back.

Shizu, usually gentle as a breeze, suddenly spoke like an exhausted homeroom teacher.

He sighed.

"Alright, alright. I'll do my best. Anything else?"

"Clothing!"

"Minerals!"

"I need manga!"

"…Manga?"

Takumi turned sharply.

"Who said manga?!"

Rimuru slowly raised one hand.

"Um… I think it was me…"

"Rimuru."

"Yes?"

"Why."

Rimuru shrank back and smiled sheepishly.

"I was joking?"

"HAHAHAHA!" Benimaru burst out laughing.

"As expected from Rimuru-sama!"

Ranga wagged his tail. "Rimuru-sama is adorable!"

Takumi groaned.

"Fine! If there's manga, I'll bring it! But don't expect much—their world is still in early industrial development!"

The System whispered:

You really spoil her.

Takumi ignored it.

Choosing the Expedition Team

Takumi looked around.

"So next—who's coming with me to the Demon Slayer World?"

Benimaru opened his mouth—

Takumi shut him down instantly.

"Not you. There are no monsters in that world. You'd cause panic."

Benimaru pouted.

Kagaya raised a hand.

"Hehe. Allow me to go. Our Ubuyashiki family still has influence in Neon, after all."

Takumi nodded.

"Good. Anyone else?"

"Takumi," Kanae said gently. "Please take Shinobu and the others. We… want to see the Butterfly Mansion again."

Shinobu nodded silently.

Miss Shizu then raised her hand.

"I'll go too."

Takumi nodded—

But Rimuru bolted upright.

"Then I want to go too!"

Takumi froze.

"…No."

Rimuru looked genuinely stabbed.

"W-Why not?"

"Because one of us must stay and run the city. If something happens while we're both gone, who will make final decisions?"

Rimuru blinked.

Then sighed.

"…Makes sense. Then I'll guard Dimensional City."

Takumi squinted.

That tone sounded like Rimuru was seeing him off to the afterlife.

He ignored it.

"Alright. Then I will take: Kagaya, Kanae, Shinobu, Miss Shizu, and around a hundred former Demon Slayer Corps members."

Kagaya smiled serenely.

"I will handle inviting… or persuading… teachers to join us."

Takumi choked.

"Persuade… or kidnap?"

Kagaya kept smiling.

"If they resist, I will simply invite their families too. Everyone will make the correct choice."

Takumi stared.

Kagaya was terrifying.

"Alright. Then let's finalize troop arrangements."

Benimaru's Military Report

Benimaru stood straight.

"Currently, the Garrison is composed of 10 battalions, each with 1,000 members. Total: 10,000."

Takumi nodded.

Benimaru continued:

"If needed, we can expand quickly. Most Orcs can be mobilized to fight."

"But due to major construction projects, only a few thousand are actively enlisted."

He took a breath.

"As for strength levels: using your rating system, Lord Takumi—"

"Special A-rank: Myself and Hakurou."

"A-rank: All Demon Slayer Pillars, Gobuta, and many elite troops."

"B-rank: Over a thousand."

"The rest are C-rank or above."

Souei and the intelligence corps weren't even included in this tally.

Takumi nodded slowly.

Hakuro's teaching speed was insane.

"What an absolute monster of an instructor…" he muttered.

Benimaru puffed with pride.

Takumi clapped once.

"Excellent! Better than expected. So—this is my plan."

The holographic table lit up.

A massive multi-layered operation chart appeared.

Rimuru leaned forward.

"This looks complicated…"

Takumi smirked.

"It will be the largest interdimensional mission ever conducted."

Takumi's Plan: Phase 1

Takumi pointed at the first panel.

Phase One: Dimensional Deployment

Takumi leads the expedition team to the Demon Slayer World.

Acquire massive quantities of food, medicines, clothing, tools, and instructors.

Secure long-term supply partnerships.

Phase Two: City Expansion

Rimuru remains in Dimensional City to oversee the creation of three new districts.

Orc workforce + treant support + magic-tech construction units.

New housing capable of supporting 1,000,000+ residents.

Phase Three: Cure Development

Rimuru + Great Sage analyze the Gastrea virus.

Develop anti-virus serum.

Mass-produce via magic-tech laboratories.

Phase Four: Military Dispatch

Demon Slayer Pillars + Garrison Corps deploy into Black Bullet world.

Exterminate Gastrea.

Secure all Cursed Children.

Rimuru stared at the board.

"This… is insane."

Takumi smiled.

"It's also necessary."

He turned to the room.

"We are about to save millions of lives. And we are about to expand Dimensional City into the greatest power across all worlds."

"Is everyone ready?"

Benimaru ignited flames.

"READY!"

Souei vanished.

"Already gathering intelligence."

Shinobu smiled calmly.

"I will prepare antidote research facilities."

Kanae placed a hand on her chest.

"We will guide every child with kindness."

Miss Shizu nodded.

"And teach them."

Rimuru grinned.

"Takumi, I'll make sure the city is perfect when you return."

Takumi nodded.

"Then let's begin."
