Chapter 19 - Gray de Moliard vs. William Flacona

In the arena where the matches between the teams were held, the referee's voice was loud, mixed with the cheers of the crowd, a blend of excitement from the previous fights and a hidden tension on his face as he announced the start of the round. He approached with a voice full of excitement and awe as he circled the stands.

"In the sixth round, the Midnight Monsters team, captained by Grey de Molière, will face the Cannibals, captained by William Falcona. Let the battles begin! The sixth round!" The gazes of all those present were filled with awe as they looked at the team, which was participating in this competition for the first time. The members of the "Midnight Monsters" team were monsters, as their name suggests. Grey and Roichi were descendants of the hero who fought the Demon King a thousand years ago, possessing a talent that appears only once every thousand years. They were not yet 14 years old, yet they held the rank of Master (XX). Furthermore, Lucy Kethali, daughter of the Magic Lord Belgord Kethali and a Time-Governor's Contractor, was one of the most talented humans, having previously held the rank of Master and Saint. Reaching the rank of Legend at the age of twenty was miraculous, but reaching the rank of Legend and beyond is more than just miraculous. It's as if people have been reincarnated from the beginning, slowly regaining their strength. She is now able to use Kono to a great extent, and the reason for her increased power was immense. Mana was stored in her heart, but after the problem was resolved, energy flowed like a raging sea, increasing her power. Thanks to the power of the Ruler of Time, she made the raging energy slow—not slow, but calm—it slowed her movement speed by manipulating the concept of time itself. Being a skilled swordsman made it even more astonishing. Beatrice is the granddaughter of the former Magic Emperor, Boswell, one of the greatest magicians. He had many achievements in magic, mana refinement, and Chi. He collected many books on the secrets of mana and Chi, how to increase the level of an individual's refinement, and how to understand ancient manuscripts, spells, and inscriptions that were thrown into the River of Oblivion, which devours all who fall into it, forgotten and defeated. He is the greatest talent humankind has ever witnessed. Her perfect control of the energy of the two rulers of matter and space is not something easy or impossible to do. Some say she was born from the essence of a world that was meant to be demonic, but it was purified to become an angel and a double-edged sword. Previca is a skilled psychiatrist, and it is said that she was rehabilitated to control and manipulate the souls of mentally ill patients from dangerous halls at a young age, but she escaped after several years of torment. It is said that the ruler of love admired her twisted and malicious personality and made a contract with her. Some say that the relationship between the ruler of love and Previca is like that of a mother and daughter, a teacher and student, and the last individual among them is Yuta Cassiral, or Yuto, or Bu... or the creator of multiple names, but one person, loved by those close to him, feared by enemies, and revered by his followers or the general public who know who he is, whose identity is unknown, what are his goals? He contracted with the ruler of a place because he wanted it, he created the Blood Moon assassination team because he wanted it, Lucy was assassinated in the Academy exam (competition), and her heart was torn out because he wanted it. What happened had a hand in it. He was like a king, but behind the scenes, like a fisherman casting bait and waiting for fish to fight over it, catching the winner—the one who devoured the bait we thought was a prize, only to discover it was poison, a precious treasure. That was Yuta Cassiral. He didn't reveal his interventions or schemes, making things seem ordinary, even to a reader unaware of his involvement. He appeared as a hero to his loved ones, a devil to his enemies, a king and ruler to his followers, fighting like a lone wolf. His eyes were violet, devoid of any genuine emotion, looking at everyone as people do: loved, he loves; hated, he hates. You don't know if it was love or hate. You don't know if the reason he killed you was revenge, hatred, or if he simply wanted to kill you. Being inside the world he built in his imagination is strange. Knowledge itself, if he were ordinary, would have been a short-term weapon, but he didn't interfere in the flow of the story. The events were unfolding. The capital of the human empire was in the east, while he was in the west, not because he feared the occurrence of the butterfly phenomenon. Because there was nothing worth interfering in, Son Goku, the Midnight Monsters team was literally a collection of monsters, each one a monster in their own domain: Mana (Beatrice Azwasen), Magic, Swordsman (Lucy Kethaly), Warrior, Swordsman (Grey and Roichi de Molière), Psychopath (Brivka), Observer (Yuta Casserale).

The referee's voice began, loud and full of excitement, announcing the start of the first round. The first rounds were individual matches between the team leaders: "The first round will be between the Skull Crusher and the Fighter of Countless Talents, William Falconna, against the descendant of the first hero and one of the rarest talents, as rare as oxygen in space, Grey de Molière."

Grey and William, who appeared to be in his forties and of the rank of Half-Ruler (William being a student of a famous master who had died long ago), and Grey, of the rank of Master, were both involved. This was due to several reasons, the most important being the training room; each family had its own training room. A reality separate from the outside world: an hour outside the training room is equivalent to hundreds of years inside. For these noble families, their sons are above the S-rank, but reaching the Legendary rank or higher depends on absolute talent or a blessing. Some families, like the de Molière, Kethali, Ozarsen, and Guilford, were blessed by an entity whose nature is unknown. It is said that this entity is more powerful than the rulers of this world by countless years, and this is what the legends and volumes say. Back at the arena, both Grey and William walked towards it with steady, powerful steps. The desire to win burned like fire in their eyes. Grey wanted to defeat a talent fighter, and William wanted to defeat a descendant of a hero and take revenge on someone who had defeated him several years ago from the same Grey family—his uncle Reinhardt. He wanted to fight Roichi because Reinhardt de Molière was his father, but luck was not on his side. The rules were clear for the leaders of the fighting groups in the first rounds. The loss against Reinhardt thirty-five years ago was a humiliating defeat in every sense of the word, but he was not angry. He was happy even with the loss because he was Reinhardt is one of the strongest humans, ranking first among the strongest humans and among the top five if we include the realms of demons, dragons, the upper world, and the underworld.(List by current world view) William expected something great from the first human son to reach the rank of Lord of the Rings. The five most powerful entities in this world were the Dragon King (Lord of the Rings), the Ruler of the Underworld (Lord of the Rings), Reinhardt de Muriel (Lord of the Rings), the Demon King Mlaider (Lord of the Rings), and the World Watcher, Kazlen (.....). The Dragon King's fifth position was due to several reasons: Reinhardt had received the blessing of a legendary entity, and moreover, he was the descendant of the strongest human in this world, whom some say is still alive, while others say he died a thousand years ago. The Demon King's position was due to his ability to manipulate his own space, coupled with his centuries-long experience.

Back to the main point, Gree and William were in the middle of the arena, their gazes as sharp as sword blades. William spoke in a calm, determined tone: "Grey de Muriel, a member of the family, was once part of a heroic family that produced the strongest humans in every era. He is truly impressive." A slight smile appeared on Gree's face as he looked at him. It was genuine flattery; William was trying to flatter Gree. To see his true mettle, for people usually become either arrogant or reckless when speaking of such matters, but Grey was not one of them. People lived as members of the de Molière family, which only produced the strongest, nothing more. Such things, like praise and flattery, were things he was so accustomed to that they no longer affected him. "Let's begin the fight, William Falcona." A wide smile appeared on William's face as he looked at Grey. It was a smile of genuine admiration. He didn't budge an inch as he drew out a giant axe, two meters long and the size of a bull's head. Although it seemed heavy, in the hands of William, who was three meters tall, the size of a human, and of average build, it was as light as a feather. Grey drew his slender sword, a natural sword, sharp on both sides, with a black dragon's head. It absorbed light, releasing a light green aura, like Imperial Green Jade, one of the most precious and finest types of jade. On the other side, an overwhelming blue aura emanated from William. A wide smile spread across both faces, filled with excitement and awe at the prospect of overcoming a wall that dared not cross. One of them broke the bond of humiliation against a member of the De Molière family, and William, nicknamed the "Talent Killer," fought. A referee's voice rang out, announcing the start of the first round: "Ready... Begin!" Both Grey and William vanished into thin air immediately afterward, each maintaining a safe distance of six meters from the other, trying to understand each other's movements and weaknesses. But weaknesses were nowhere to be seen, making the search utterly futile. Trying to create weaknesses themselves was like trying to find a germ in a concentrated acidic solution. Their speed was terrifying, expected from elite individuals reaching the rank of Semi-Ruler in their forties without the privileges of nobles, or truly admirable. Most fighters of natural lineage and talent at William's age were still at the S-rank or much lower. Tom reached Semi-Ruler at the age of 500. Human lifespans lengthened with each rank; upon reaching the SSS rank, one was rejuvenated. He was at the age of A thousand years had passed since he reached the rank of High Holy Ruler, yet Reinhardt attained this rank only three hundred years old and was considered a talent of the century. But the talents of this generation surpassed even his own logic. As Gray and William exchanged skillful sword blows, it was a battle between talent and the experience of over 600 years of combat and warfare—a battle of honor. Gray skillfully maneuvered against William's attacks, attempting to distance himself several meters. William anticipated this move, but something forced him into it, and he struck Gray in the stomach, sending him flying. William's gaze shifted to surprise at something he noticed on Gray's middle finger: a ring that looked ordinary but held much suspicion. William ignored it, however, as Gray, wielding earth magic, turned towards him, crafting a shield of rocks around his body. Gray, adjusting his position and trying to avoid falling from the arena, felt a green shield begin to form around him as soon as his foot touched the ground, becoming a beautiful armor. He then charged towards William, the creator. They collided powerfully, then murmured their techniques in quiet tones: Gree's and William's . A solid layer of green aura formed around Gree's sword blade, while a gentle red light from the fig engraving on the blade increased its damage output. William, surrounded by rocks around a double-edged axe blade with fissures of magma, unleashed a deafening explosion the moment the two weapons touched: BOOM! Dust filled the Aleppo ground. Everyone's gaze was filled with shock. It was a pure fight; neither of them spoke. Their swords spoke, their dialogue was through the blades. Once the dust settled, William appeared somewhat unharmed, though a section of his armor was slightly cracked. Gree was injured in places, and warm red blood flowed from his mouth and head, but a smile remained on his face—a smile of confident victory. Gree raised his hands, still smiling confidently, and spoke in an enthusiastic tone. With great confidence, he said, "I'll show you my true power, William Falcon." He removed a ring from his hand. It wasn't easy; blood gushed from his finger. It wasn't an ordinary ring; it was a seal that prevented the power of that pool from manifesting or its owner from using it. In the waiting area for the fighting factions, there was a faint smile on Ruichi's face as he looked at Gray and murmured, "It seems you've become capable of using that power." As soon as Gray removed the ring, a wave of spiritual energy erupted from his entire body, making him appear luminous with a jade-green layer. His power had increased significantly. Both the audience and the judge were shocked, unlike William, whose expression was calm, but a faint smile remained on his face. The judge began speaking in a voice filled with astonishment, "What's happening here? What is this terrifying energy? Is this really the power of the Ald Molière? They are natural monsters." The jade-green nature began to crumble little by little, and Gray emerged from them radically different. The color of his hair had changed. His blue to jade-green eyes, the sea-blue to light green as if made of jade stone, changed shape to the exact color of his aura. Behind his back was a giant disc bearing the emblem of a beautiful woman wearing black, covering

Her face was clasped with her hands as if in prayer. Gray's strength was equivalent to that of a novice ruler-level fighter, but given his current level, this was a limited power, lasting only half an hour before he would lose consciousness for several hours. William began clapping enthusiastically as he looked at Gray, who was floating several inches above the ground. "It seems all the members of the de Molière family are truly this strong." As soon as he said these words, he shot towards Gray at the speed of light, aiming his bow at him. But Gray was terrifyingly calm, so much so that signs of awe and cold sweat appeared on William's face as he looked at him and murmured in a low voice, "Many de Molière killers have been killed over the past 600 years, and some have used his blessing in battle, but none have had such an overwhelming presence. This is not the power of a blessed thing, but the power of something else. He is not alone in bearing a killer blessing. Many have borne the same blessings from noble or gray families. One of the bearers of this blessing was two of Gowther McAteer's squads: the son of Duke Yukimarus McAteer, the demonic assassin, and Gian, nicknamed the Legend of the Sword, reached the level of a semi-ruler at the young age of 16. The son of my teacher, who taught me, possessed the same overwhelming presence as Gree. I don't understand where he came from, but he announced something I don't understand and won't understand anytime soon. Gree easily blocked William's axe, then sliced through a double axe, throwing William out of the arena like a broken doll. But the price of his power was high. Using so much of this mysterious power in such a short time caused him to vomit a great deal of blood and suffer numerous physical and mental injuries, eventually losing consciousness. Nevertheless, Gree was the victor in the duel. William was outside the arena, and the scene was in terrifying silence. Roichi revived the paralyzed referee from the shock. "Isn't it time for the final announcement?" The referee's body began to tremble with a shaking as he spoke in a loud voice, "We declare the end of the first round of the Sixth Match for today with the victory of Gree de Molière of the Midnight Monsters." Uta strode towards him with agile steps. He picked him up, a faint smile on his face, and murmured in a calm, respectful voice, "You're truly strong, Gree. You've always been strong, in the past, present, and future." He headed towards a designated spot for his team and laid Gree on the ground, placing one hand on his chest and the other on his stomach, near his navel. A faint green light, tinged with a shimmering gold, emanated—pure energy surging like cool water around Gree's body, through his blood vessels and nerves, even reaching his spiritual energy veins, healing all his physical and spiritual injuries. Yuta's healing power was astonishing; being the strongest person in his world made his healing ability terrifying. He turned to his companions and spoke in a calm, reassuring tone, "He'll wake up in a few minutes. He used more power than his body could handle, which is why he's so tired."
