Chapter 134 - Preparing for the Festival [The festive atmosphere is devoid of joy]

To speak respectfully while smiling nervously as she checked the patient records:

"Please wait a moment. There are more than 300 students brought to the rehabilitation center over the past few days."

Seok doesn't say anything, and it's the same to both Yoruichi and Gray, who watch her as she searches for his name in the hospital registry.

If they were just common people, she would have insulted them and kicked them out without caring.

Several minutes passed of continuous searching for Suho's name, until a slight smile appeared on the receptionist's face as she pointed her finger at Suho's name.

She spoke happily and hypocritically while pointing the record towards Seok, so they could all look at it.

"Student Suho, 15 years old, from the elite class, martial specialty. The day of his arrival was Thursday, May 28, 675. He is currently in Hall A, Room 5, on the first floor."

Seok remained silent for several seconds before heading to where Suho was without saying a word.

"That bastard knows nothing named Troy."

Gray spoke with obvious annoyance as he looked at him as he looked away into the horizon.

"Let's follow him before he causes serious problems."

Yoruichi spoke sharply as he followed him, and Giri ran right after him, while Seok cursed inwardly.

They had to catch up with him quickly to avoid any problem. Seok was like a time bomb that could explode at any second, and what happened on Jiju Island and what Suho told them was the biggest proof of that.

Several minutes later, Seok was in front of Suho's room door, looking at him unable to do anything. He was unable to enter the room, as if there was an invisible barrier preventing him from entering.

Both Yoruichi and Gray turned to him, with clear signs of annoyance on their faces. However, they didn't say anything after noticing Seok's expression that was full of remorse.

He opened the door without looking at them or saying anything, to find a beautiful and very organized room, as if it were a private room in a five-star hotel, in contrast to the hallway and the basement, which looked like a prison.

However, he did not care, turning his gaze towards Suho who was sleeping deeply on his bed, without showing any intention of waking up, only to notice that he was tied to the bed and unable to get out of it.

He sat in a chair next to Suho's bed, gently stroking his hair while remembering that fateful day.

Seok's eyes kept searching around for Suho, who had not appeared until that hour.

While Seok was searching for him, his eyes met a young man lying on the trunk of a nearby tree, the upper part of which had been burned as a result of an attack of a fiery nature.

Signs of shock appeared on Seok's face as he looked at that young man, and he spoke with great difficulty:

"Suho...is that you?"

"...."

He did not hear any response, and this made him even more anxious, so he headed directly towards the young man who was lying on the tree trunk without any movement.

After several minutes had passed, Seok had reached the tree trunk.

He found the young man, who was Suho, drowning in his own blood due to numerous injuries.

The flesh on his left cheek was missing, and his teeth were broken, making him unwatchable. The flesh mixed with teeth was something impossible to look at.

As for his right hand, it was completely deformed, and it was impossible to call it a hand. His body was full of wounds and fractures all over his body.

Seok fell in front of the body of his childhood friend, with looks that were difficult to bear:

"Suho, are you dead or what? Just say something!"

"...."

No answer. The situation remained silent for several seconds, before Suho's body began to disappear in a golden mist.

Seok's pupils shrank to the size of pins as he looked at his friend who was helplessly disappearing in front of him.

Tears began to fall heavily from his black eyes as he watched the last part of his friend disappear without saying anything.

He couldn't utter a single word, all the words had run out of his mouth, and he could only look on, like a useless person.

"I'm really sorry, I didn't want this to happen. Why did you die? We wanted to become stronger and lift our families out of poverty, but now you're dead, turning into a golden mist. Why? Why does this always happen to us?"

"People live happily and do whatever they want, and we are just toys that they play with and throw away when they get bored of us, just because we were born poor and cannot even fill our stomachs."

Seok sighed deeply, trying to clear his mind, only to hear Suho's heart beating like a drum, making him realize that something was wrong.

Suho opened his eyes wide while screaming loudly, holding Seok's hand tightly:

"You are the cause of all the misfortunes that have befallen me! You were present in them! You are the curse that appeared in my life! You wretch!"

Seok's face showed shock as he listened to Suho, who was semi-conscious.

The doctors entered immediately after hearing Suho's loud screams, to find Grey, Ruichi, and Seok inside his room, which made them surprised.

Then one of the responsible doctors among them took them out after they injected Suho with a sedative, causing him to fall into a deep sleep due to the hypnotic effect.

"I don't know how you entered such a dangerous facility, but Student Suho's condition is very serious. He died a gruesome death, and on top of that, the shock of his death is still affecting him."

"Apparently, he responded negatively to you, Mr. Seok. Therefore, if you consider him a close friend, it is best not to come and visit him for the next four months, as his psychological and mental state is completely unstable."

"However, he will be able to study during the next year, but he will not be the Suho you know. Death changes a lot of people."

None of them interrupted the doctor's words, because they were aware that what he was saying was true and they had to accept reality as it is.

Yoruichi looked at Seok as he gently stroked his back:

"Don't be sad, he'll be stingy..."

Yoruichi was silent as he looked at Seok's face, which was so angry that his eyes turned pitch black, with two red dots appearing in them.

However, at the same time, they felt that his strength had increased greatly, Seok was half a traumatized curse, and what happened to him just before was a shock that he would not be able to get over easily after hearing Suho's words.

Gray, Ruichi, and Seok immediately left the place without saying anything. The situation was tense, and they were not allowed to say anything for fear of complicating matters.

"I will kill them, I will kill them all. Whoever caused this will die, since they did not participate in a fight against the Goblin Lord Cavliore."

"This shows one thing, that those masters did this to him, because they did not have to fight at that time."

Seok spoke in his heart as he headed out of the rehab center.

Gray then gave him a cold drink, which made Seok confused. When did they leave rehab? How did they reach the city center of Gusembourg?

He realized that he had been distracted for a long time, which made him unable to focus on what was happening around him.

He took the cold drink that Gray had given him in one go, and a long exhale came out of his mouth, filled with a false psychological comfort that would disappear after a short time.

Then Gary spoke calmly, in a way that Seok never imagined he would hear from him, to pull him out of his distraction:

"You want to take revenge on those people?… The two people who can help you are Gowther McTire or the famous detective Tai Hun of the Great Tai Clan."

Seok was somewhat surprised by Grey's words, however, he found himself agreeing with what he said, as Gowther Mactire was the heir to the Duchy of Mactire.

As for the Tai Clan, it is considered the second most dangerous intelligence organization after the McTeer family in the human world, and on top of that, it owns the most famous investigator in the world, Tai Hun.

Therefore, he was confused, both options were suitable, but at the same time, relying on himself seemed better, since he would not be able to kill them with his own hands.

The Tai Clan will say that the law will punish them, and that it has no right to kill them, while the Mactaire Duchy will kill them directly upon revealing information related to moral corruption or previous crimes, if any.

Therefore, in both cases, he will be unable to achieve his revenge as he wants.

To speak quietly while turning the cup into a small ball made of paper:

"I don't need any of them. I will take revenge with my own two hands. Not only do I consider Suho my friend, I also consider him my brother, the only person who has been by my side my entire life, so avenging him would be a natural thing."

Neither Gray nor Ruichi said anything after hearing Seok's opinion.

They decided to continue their way to a restaurant. It was 12:56, which was a good time to eat something.

As they walked around, they stopped at a circus fortune-teller's tent.

Then Gray spoke with a small smile as he pointed to the inside of the fortune-teller's tent:

"How about you come in and find out about our future?"

They both looked at him for several seconds before completely ignoring him and continuing on their way, which made Gray very annoyed, and he turned towards them.

Not because they rejected his request, but because they completely ignored him, as if he were just a small child talking.

To hear the voice of a fortune teller calling to them from inside the tent:

"Grey de Moliard, Ruichi de Moliard, and Seok, why don't you come over and have a little chat?"

They each entered the tent, to find a young man in his twenties, with short black hair that reached his neck and dark black eyes, looking at them with a small smile.

He was wearing a fortune teller's clothing, while holding a glass ball in his hands.

"How are you, Mr. Seok? I heard from Asfoura that you want to know who killed your friend Suho, right?"

The fortune teller spoke calmly while looking at them with half-closed eyes.

Seok sits in a chair next to the fortune teller, and his gaze is filled with a desire to know who is responsible for what is happening with Suho currently.

However, before he could say anything, Yoruichi spoke sharply, breaking the tension that engulfed the place:

"First, I want to know your name, fortune teller."

The fortune teller's smile grew more prominent as he listened to Yoruichi's words. He spoke in a calm tone and with a mischievous look full of confidence, which made each of them feel uncomfortable:

"My name is Maximus, and they call me Amon. Nice to meet you. However, since it's my first day at this circus, I'll make it free. Isn't it a tempting offer?"

Seok's eyes narrowed as he listened to Amon's words, which was suspicious. However, he decided to ignore the situation, as this was something new fortune-tellers do to gain clients, by giving them a chance to try out, spread their reputation around, and collect huge sums of money.

"Okay, I agree. So, who are the people who killed Suho?"

Seok's tone of voice was calm as he looked at Amon very carefully, trying to detect any trick.

However, things seemed normal, which made his caution gradually lessen.

Amon spoke, breaking the silence:

"On the first day of a big event, at the hero's statue, the rats will gather to mock a dead trickster."

Seok remained silent for several seconds before he got up from his chair, his look showing that he understood what Amon was saying.

They then left the place, as neither Gray nor Ruichi had any intention of hearing any more of his words.

To speak again in a calm and serious tone at the same time:

"To move toward the future, you must first know the past. Dreams are sometimes a gateway to a hidden truth."

Signs of shock appeared on both Yoruichi and Gray's faces as they listened to Amon's words. They returned to their drawers, but found that there was no one inside the tent.

Their looks were full of confusion and incomprehension, so how did he disappear so quickly?

"You, what are you doing here? Entering someone's workplace when he's not there!"

They all turned their attention to the sound of a woman screaming in obvious annoyance, and turned their attention to her.

Her facial expressions turned from annoyance to fear, as she was screaming at two members of the De Moliard family.

She bowed while apologizing, and the fear was evident in the pleading tone of her voice:

"I apologize. I thought someone had come to steal divination tools. They are expensive, and they have been stolen several times."

None of them said anything in response to the oracle's pleas, as they were in shock at Amon's disappearance without realizing it.

However, Gray had his phone, which had a photo of that person on it, which he had taken as soon as they entered.

Gray spoke calmly while looking at her from the corner of his eyes:

"Is there a person called Maximus, whom you call Amon?"

Signs of confusion appeared on the fortuneteller's face as she looked at them, answering Gray's question:

"No, there is no one by that name."

Both Seok and Yoruichi's eyes narrowed as they listened to her words, and Giri gave her a picture of Amon.

She looked at her for several seconds before speaking with great confusion:

"I remembered! There is a person named Maximus, but he died five months ago due to an illness he contracted, and he was buried."

"So, there's no way he's here. If you hadn't taken a picture of him, I would have thought you were joking. Maximus was a solitary young man who liked to be alone during his free time, so I forgot about him so quickly. I apologize for that, but we don't give him any nicknames."

A deep sigh came out of Seok's mouth as he left the place, because he was confident that what Amon told him was the truth and did not carry any deception inside him, and the reaction of Yoruichi and Girey was the greatest evidence of that.

"We'd better leave, I don't feel comfortable here."

Seok spoke in confusion as he left the tent, ignoring the oracle.

As they were leaving, Gray said regretfully before leaving the place:

"I apologize for bothering us."

A malicious smile appeared on the woman's face as she looked at them leaving the place:

"That's okay, it was very nice meeting you, you...!"

At Gray, Ruichi, and Seok, after they moved several meters away from the fortune-teller's tent.

Yoruichi spoke curiously as he recalled what happened to them inside the tent:

"How about we go back to the Oracle and ask her?"

Seok and Gi-rye agreed to his proposal, as they were still curious and wanted to know the truth.

As they turned back, Gary said:

"What do you want to ask the fortune teller?"

However, their calm did not last long, because they did not find the Oracle's tent in the first place, as if it did not exist.

Not even two minutes had passed since they left the tent, so how could she suddenly disappear? This made them realize that this woman was working with this person called Amon.

However, a slight smile appeared on Gray's face as he looked at his phone, only to find that there was a picture of that woman.

This made both Seok and Yoruichi look at him suspiciously, and this made G-ri very upset.

"No, he fell asleep a few days ago, and started taking pictures automatically, which is why I didn't plan to take a picture of both Amon and that Sibyl."

They went to one of the circus owners to make him see a picture of Maximus and the Sibyl.

He spoke with shock and disbelief. However, they realized that if he were someone else in their place, he would believe what he saw and would laugh at them.

"Yes, I know both Maximus, who loved solitude in his spare time, and his sister, the Sibyl Lori, but they died five months ago, due to an accident that occurred while preparing the circus for a festival."

"So, it seems like someone did trick us after all."

Yoruichi's tone of voice held some annoyance.

Then he immediately left the place, leaving that person in a state of shock at what he saw; Two people were presumed dead and buried months ago.

Which made them realize that there was a person who deceived them quite easily, and yet, he advised and helped them at the same time.

This increased their confusion, as they did not know his true purpose for those actions. Amon was a name that none of them would forget in their entire lives.

To continue their way towards the restaurant they decided to visit before they entered the fortune-teller's tent and were deceived by Amun.

Meanwhile, at the Ain Sultan restaurant, they were all eating their food while trying to forget what happened earlier.

"So, are you going to believe that person's words or not?"

Yoruichi's voice was calm as he ate a piece of meat.

Seok turned his gaze towards him with unwavering determination:

"Yes, I believe what he said. He was able to fool us quite easily, which at the same time makes him more credible, because no one does things without a reason, even if it seems illogical."

"As you wish, however, remember: He who plays with fire will one day be burned by it."

Seok didn't say anything to refute Yoruichi's words, he knew that very well. Whoever kills, a day will come and be killed, and whoever does injustice, a day will come and be wronged. This is how life is. Every action has a reaction, no matter how long it takes.

He placed the spoon on the table while looking at the food with calm eyes that carried some killing intent and determination to do the impossible.

To speak in a calm and serious tone:

"I've done many things in my life, when I was a full curse and a full human. I was the ruler of curses for 2,000 years, and millions of people died at the hands of people, mostly for selfish reasons. Killing a few people won't make much difference."

Signs of discomfort appeared on both of their faces as they listened to his words.

However, they realize that Seok is not someone to be underestimated; An entity that will do anything for its interests and goals.

He would be a monster if they made him their enemy.

This made them pity the people he would take revenge on, as he was killing his enemies in extremely horrific ways.
