Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 I Don't Drink Coffee

Mo Yichen halted mid-step the moment a figure suddenly crashed to the ground beside his feet.

Everyone froze.

Reporters stared wide-eyed, microphones suspended mid-air.

"Is she crazy?"

"What is she doing?"

Murmurs rippled through the crowd.

Wen Mianmian wanted to die on the spot.

She knelt on the ground, palms stinging, her face burning.

Oh my God, this is so embarrassing.

She scrunched her face and lowered her head.

Earth, please swallow me. Please.

Okay, Mianmian… just stand up. Act like nothing happened. You can do this. She breathed in and out to calm herself down.

She slowly pushed herself up and lifted her head...

only to find Mo Yichen staring directly into her eyes.

Cold. Sharp. Expression unreadable.

Her heart almost stopped.

But damn… he was even more handsome in real life. A hundred times more.

Her cheeks heated instantly.

"Hi…"

She lifted her hand weakly and waved, smiling with guiltily.

Lu Zikai, Mo Yichen's assistant, nearly dropped his tablet.

Did she just wave at his boss?

Normally, Mo Yichen would have someone drag her away instantly.

But he didn't move.

In fact… something seemed to hold him still.

A scent coming from her body

Warm vanilla. Soft, comforting.

His eyes lingered on her longer than anyone had ever seen.

'Why is he staring at me like that? Oh so weird' Mianmian muttered

Mianmian remebered what she was her here to do and panicked internally and quickly lifted her ID card from her chest

"I...I'm Wen Mianmian from Starlight News Agency, and I just wanted to..."

"Move aside!"

Lu Zikai stepped forward and pushed her back a little roughly

She stumbled, eyes widening in fear.

If she missed this chance… Mr. Yao would murder her.

"I...I only need one minute!" she insisted loudly.

Then a cold voice cut through the air.

"Let her speak."

Lu Zikai froze.

Everyone froze.

He moved aside instantly, revealing Mo Yichen's unreadable expression.

Mianmian gulped and straightened her posture.

"I'm Wen Mianmian from Starlight Media," she repeated, trying to sound professional despite panting like she'd just run a marathon. "And we would like to invite you to our office for an official interview."

Mo Yichen raised one eyebrow.

"Interview?"

A wave of silence fell.

Reporters exchanged stunned looks.

Everyone knew Mo Yichen never accepted interviews.

She nodded vigorously. "Yes! And we have chairs. Very comfortable chairs."

"And coffee!" she blurted out. "Good coffee. Expensive coffee!"

Lu Zikai coughed.

One of the bodyguards bit his lip to stop a laugh.

Mo Yichen's gaze didn't change.

"That's unfortunate," he said calmly.

"Huh?" Mianmian blinked.

"I don't accept interviews."

He stepped toward his car.

Panic exploded inside her.

She took two quick steps after him. "M...Mr Mo! Sir...please!"

He didn't stop.

"Just one chance!" she shouted desperately.

He paused at the car door.

For one tiny second, hope flared in her chest. Maybe… maybe he was reconsidering?

He turned his head slightly.

"And I don't drink coffee," Mo Yichen said, his words were shaped and emotionless.

The door closed gently but decisively.

His assistant entered.

A bodyguard took the driver's seat.

The remaining guards entered the second car.

Moments later, the convoy drove away.

Leaving Wen Mianmian standing alone among the reporters and embarrassed.
