Chapter 10 - Enemies Meet On A Narrow Path .

Didn't that mean that my talent in Martial Arts will never allow me to catch up to those who even started practicing with me, did i inherit some of the bad luck of the original Tian Long, what's with this damn development, not to mention keeping myself safe from dying .

I could die if i practiced Martial Arts in this dog eating dog world even faster, my brain is overwhelmed by both the amount of information it gained and the shocking development, i'm really beginning to believe that i might as well had been transmigrated into the body of that rodent from yesterday, at least i won't be worried about being dead by night .

The headache from before came back to me and even more intense than before, it came to me with a message that transcended all laws of science and i was even certain that i might have just gone crazy, truly this time .

The message wasn't in words, but it transmitted the feelings and determination and even the longing the original Tian Long had towards Martial Arts, those feelings were like screaming at me to just go for it, that guy Tian Long had quite the resilient mind and he seemed to have been quite the philosopher too .

He wanted to live like a Dragon, free and unfettered, he will take any chances he got to get hold of that dream, that guy also had a crazy side to him as well, he vowed to reach the heavens through any means possible and even if he died pursuing this ridiculous dream of his .

He would die with a smile on his face, the smile is due to him understanding that all lives are meant to end, living 70 years or 500 years it didn't matter how long he lived, but how he lived those years was what mattered to him, he preferred to die in pursuing of his dream, his deepest regret was that he hadn't even touched the starting line of The Martial Way .

I couldn't help but get angry at myself, i was being scorned and screamed at by the ambitions that Tian Long had, but i wasn't him, he wanted to be a dragon among men, i can't even imagine what a dragon even looked like in here, nor he had any memory of seeing a dragon in his memories, all he got that was related to a dragon was his name, that's all .

He wasn't me nor i was him, he wanted to be special because he had ambition of changing his life for the better, understanding how this world worked from a young age, i see no problem in him thinking this, if i was raised in the same environment, i might have turned to have the exact same dream he had, but for good or worse, i wasn't and that was exactly why even though i can respect his wishes, i can't relate or act upon it in this new life of mine .

He wanted to be special, i for now only wanted to survive, luckily for him, i too will do and try everything that i can do that even if it meant wasting all the current money i have on learning Martial Arts, i would at least try it first, if i'm able to saw a future in doing so, then i will work day and night to become a Martial Artist .

But if my try ended up in failure, i believe that i would be free to do what i saw fitting for me, without having to be haunted by regrets, anymore, i myself was looking forward to what practicing Martial Arts is like, but this sudden piece of news about me being lacking in Blood Vitality, crushed all the colorful dreams, i was beginning to have .

It wasn't like there was no chance of me being able to practice Martial Arts, it will just be more difficult or even impossible for me to achieve something great through it, but he said that it might recover over time, so i still had the chance to try while hoping for the best, if i died trying then this time, i would make sure this body perish with me, i don't want to lend it to anyone after me .

My thoughts were once again cleared up, i began to once again process the information given to me by the instructor, i understood the Realms of Martial Arts and the Ranks of which each Martial Arts Practitioner was called after achieving each of those Realms .

He said more inclusive information would be given after i joined the Martial Arts Dojo, but i concluded that him not willing to give me anymore information was either out of laziness, or him just being extremely cautious not to be heard or seen, talking about this kind of stuff .

Maybe both of those guesses were correct, i also got enlightened about the calendar they use in this land, if i'm not wrong, the Qin Calendar, meant that this calendar started from the year in which the current Imperial Family rose to the throne, 230 of the Qin calendar, if that was the current year, then this mean that Tian Long who was now 14 years old, was born in the year 216 of the Qin calendar, this information didn't really benefit me that much, but it was a good information to know .

This world was feudal world, all the big, small, strong, weak families and people worked for the Imperial Palace, they all sworn oaths of loyalty to the current Emperor and all the members of his family, but they weren't the only who sworn that kind of oath, no everyone living in this land did as well, a feudalism system to the core .

All the people and their properties belonged to the Emperor Qin, he can do whatever he wanted to do with it, having a problem with that, get labeled as a traitor and killed on the spot or get you and your entire bloodline and all the way to the 18th generation, this was a quite the severe punishment that meant cursing their entire lineage from the the earliest forefather to the most recent who ever he was .

This was sever because people will beginning running from you like as if you and your entire family were plagues or demons, i finally comprehend how severe was that punishment was, i was also surprised to know that those words could be also used as a slurs, if you cursed someone back to his 18th generations, that was quite the severe insult, the emperor was the laws in this land, that was my conclusion .

The reason to why i believe that the Imperial Family was at the top was the fact that a dynasty was able to even exist in such a chaotic world where Martial Arts reigned supreme, that could only mean that its foundation was quite stable and definitely strong as well .

The Martial Arts sect and the wealthy and Influential Families came in the rankings of power and influence right behind the Imperial Family, they were the ones who benefited the most from monopolizing the secrets to how to practice Martial Arts, i do wonder about if the Lu Family was considered one .

In the last place came the Martial Arts dojos, the much weaker families and most of the low level Martial Artist can be squeezed into this rank as well, as for the normal and common people, i'm not entirely sure that they were even considered to be in need of a rank, much less myself who still a family slave and from the looks of it .

I would at least need to be at the Martial Apprentice level before being able to leave this identity behind me and become a guard in the family or strong enough to at least be able to survive on my after getting out of it, at least at the level of real Martial Artist, let's achieve the level of Martial Apprentice, then decide how to go on after that .

After my thoughts become clearer, i was finally allowed to dig deeper in the memories of Tian Long and from the words of the instructor, i was able to draw a few conclusions, that helped me in understanding all of these things and began coming up with a few initial steps, i will take going further .

I was also reminded of the the fact that the instructor did mention that there might be something that could be of help to me at tha Solid Rock Fist Dojo, as i thought of this, i sensed that he once again put his hands on my shoulders and as if confirming what i had in mind, he said :

Why the pale face, it isn't like there is no chance for you to recover from this state you are in, a few nutrition soups could help in bringing back your Blood Vitality up as before, but the only problem was that they were quite pricy more than what you would be able to afford with your current wealth, but luckily once you enter the Dojo, for 3 months you would be able to get 1 nutrition soup every month .

Seeing him advertising like this, the bad premonition i had about being set up here increased, but i was just happy that there was a solution to my state, i cupped my head at the instructor and thanked him for his guidance, he just brushed it off and stared at me internally, i couldn't help but say in a respectful tone :

" Was something wrong with me, instructor .

He suddenly sized me up and down, i sensed as if he was able to see through my skin and that left me with a huge sense of discomfort, but i tried not to show it on my face, but keeping on doing so seemed to be impossible especially after i heard him say :

Who are you ? .

I for a second there panic, i thought he found out about being imposter, a heavy pressure suddenly descended on me, but luckily i seemed to have misunderstood his intentions in asking this kind of question, he continued to say with a smile :

What with you today, normally you would have swarmed me with tons of questions, did almost been beaten up to death changed you by that much .

I almost confessed everything just now out of fright, but luckily i held back from doing so in the last second, so he was just poking fun at me, i forced my agitated mind and heart to calm down and said in resignation like manner :

" It had changed me yes, my mind got enlightened when i was almost at the death's door, but that wasn't the whole reason for this, i was also following the advice that the instructor gave me earlier about biting more than i can chew .

He looked at me and nodded his head in approval and said while patting me on the shoulder :

You really are a special guy, my eyes weren't wrong about you, just for your polite response, i will tell you a Martial Art secret about the fifth Realm of Martial Arts, the Viscera Refinement Realm .

Unlike the previous four Realm, this Realm was the most mysterious Realm out of the Five Foundation Building Realms .

The reason was due to it being the most difficult Realm to achieve, it was a Realm which a lot had fallen into despair trying to achieve complete success in .

I will till you this, this Realm unlike the previous 4 doesn't consist of 9 layers, but only 5, you could conclude that it should be easier to cross like this, but then you would be completely wrong, this was the most difficult level to cross out of all the 5 Realms, due to it completely revolving around using the resources of heaven and earth to refine your Viscera throughly .

That is all that i can currently tell you, i believe i need to began guiding those stupid guys in their training, you could still stay around, but i doubt you would be able to gain anything of value, watching those guys level of mastery, you can continue to watch or go wherever you want, but remember to abide more strictly to the rules of the family from now on, don't try practicing Martial Arts in secret .

Seeing him going away, i cupped my hands and said :

" Thank you for the guidance instructor Lu and thank you for the leniency you showed me before .

He just shook his head and without turning back, he continued to guide the other servants in practicing their Martial Arts, my stomach suddenly growled, reminding me of how hungry i was, i headed outside of the courtyard, i kept getting envious looks from the guys that were being tormented by the instructor physically and mentally, i sensing their gazes, i couldn't help but grin widely at them, that triggered their anger, but they are unable to do anything but to stare at me like that in anger .

One of the few pros to being a family slave was the fact that due to being unable to practice Martial Arts, i had two hours of freedom to do whatever i wanted to until the working start, i went to canteen, a huge building made out of Red and Gray bricks, with a sign that had the word " Food " on it, it had a chimney that smoke were currently coming out of, numerous windows that currently were closed, probably due to the time still being quite early, i headed inside after checking that the wooden door was indeed open .

Once i entered the building, i saw that much to my surprise, it seemed similar to a big tavern like the one seen in games, there were also people inside, already, the guards were currently having their meal, i sensed a sudden malicious intent coming from beside the counter of the kitchen, i Instinctively looked at where was it coming towards me from, i saw that someone was intensely glaring at me while sitting at that table, the one glaring at me was none other than old Han that tried to talk back to the instructor Lu .

I was beginning to feel threatened just by him looking at me like this, that guy was a Martial Apprentice, even after the instructor explained to me that they are still not at the level of strength that differ them much from normal people, the fact that their would be the tiniest difference in strength, meant that if we were to to fight 10 times, 10 out of the 10 times, i would be the one at the receiving end of a beating and by a multiple people from what i can tell .

He really seemed to be holding a grudge against me, it's better to finish what i was here for before things escalate any further, i reached for the counter and the fat man Lu Zu greeted me, he was looking at me with a scorn as he asked what did i want, i ordered a few pieces of meat, mostly jerky due to the fact i can use for quite some time without it being spoiled, few boiled eggs and some vegetables , he asked for half a tael of silver, it was a plaine robbery, but i knew better than to argue with that guy .

I paid the money got my package and was about to head back home to have a good morning meal, even though my heart ached when i paid a half silver tael for this meal, i kept reminding myself that it was either this or starving for the rest of the day, i chose the first, but just as i was about to reach for the door, someone was already standing there .

It was the guy called old Han, he stood in front of the door, blocking me completely from passing through, he said :

Well, if it wasn't the notorious thief who almost caused us all to lose our wages, you seem to have a lot of money in hands, why don't you treat us all to something nice .

He said smiling from ear to ear, i already understood what was he trying to do, but i couldn't help having a deja vu at him using the exact same provocation as the late Lu Jiu, but this time there was no instructor Lu to help me out, oh right instructor Lu, i had found a way to deal with that guy .

I looked at the smiling guy in front of me and smiled back at him, he frowned and i said :

" Will you be joining us too, instructor Lu .

The moment i said this the guy jumped out of the way in fright without even wasting a second, i used this opportunity to slip away .

After getting out of there, i ran in a straight line without looking back, luckily it seemed that this guy hadn't chosen to chase after me, that's a relief, as i was sighing, a voice suddenly sounded from behind me, the voice was so familiar that i didn't even needed to turn before recognizing whose voice was that, that man was saying :

Oh, so you have recovered slave, pity, i thought the lashes would have take care of, i guess your life is quite tough, huh .

Just from sensing my current emotions, i was so angry that i was beginning to shake involuntarily, the guy behind me was none other than Lu Si, the man known as Deacon Lu .
