The moment I heard those whistles, I was so engrossed in mind, so I wasn't able to react much to them, but once the shouts began to echo through the silent of the night, my head buzzed with questions like how were they able to know .
But even though my mind was bustling like this, my body still acted upon the last thought I had, I must go back and hid that leather pouch for now, or else, I might as well turn myself in at that point .
Reaching my hut, I hurriedly took the pouch and almost throw it out of the hut, but I reacted almost instantly and caught it in the air, I wanted to hide it outside of the hut, hoping that even if it was found, it would still be safe for me to act clueless about it .
But just as I tried to step out of the hut, I began hearing voices heading towards the hut and saw the light of lanterns coming closer and wss almost unable to keep my composure, I panicked due to them seeming to be coming my way after all, this secluded area had only 1 hut in it and that hut was mine, so there was no way that they weren't here for me .
I also panicked at the fact that I was currently holding another time bomb that was about to explode right in my face anytime now, I was holding evidence of my guilty and involvement with the murder of Deacon Lu in my own hands, so of course I panicked, I hurriedly closed the door that I had just opened .
Once I was back in the hut, my eyes kept darting nervously in the room, I was looking for a place that I can use to hide this time bomb in, but the previous Tian Long had already sold most of the belongings he had, so the room was empty and even the places that I might be able to hide that pouch in was visible to the naked eyes, so there was no way I risk putting it in plain sight .
If I could just had enough time. I might have been able to dig a whole in the ground like and hide it inside like what the previous Tian Long did, but I currently had neither the time nor the composure needed to be able to pull something like this off, the ground beneath me still had the hole from yesterday .
But it was a small hole, unfit for the leather pouch and even if it fitted inside, it will be still visible nonetheless, so adopting that solution could end make things much worse for me instead .
Should I just open the door and throw it away, hoping that no one will be able to find it, that would indeed might work, but it also came with risk of being interrogated to uncover what my relationship with the murder and above all else I still felt a bit indignation towards the idea throwing this fortune away .
Just as I was lost about what can I currently do, burying that leather pouch was no longer a possibility, I continued to dart around the room with my eyes until I was finally able to see a place that I had overlooked, it actually might actually be the best choice for me to hide this time bomb in .
The rodent's home, or the hole he claimed as his home, it had enough space behind it, enough to allow me to keep that pouch hidden until these guys go away, but the problem is with the rodent that might become angry at me suddenly throwing something like this at him .
His reaction might be aggressive and try to directly destroy the leather pouch and its content, or worse with my luck, he actually might throw it back at me in the worst timing possible, dooming me directly .
I leaned in front of the hole and sensed no movements coming from inside, I knocked a few times to check whether to be happy about confirming their absence or not .
After knocking a few times and seeing that there were still no response coming from inside, I finally become certain that the rodents seemed to have moved out or something like that, no matter what, this was indeed a happy news for me .
I hurriedly hid the pouch in that hole and made sure that it won't mover here or there suddenly and then made sure that there was nothing wrong with room, calmed my uneasy heart down .
Using the breathing rhythm and making use of the ways to circulate Blood Qi inside the body mentioned in the knowledge I absorbed from the Solid Rock Fist Manual, I was able to successfully calm myself down without much of a problem .
I felt warm inside my body and the cold from before directly went away, I slept on the bed or at least acted as if I was on bed since a long time, I then waited for them to barg into here any second now, my heartbeat took a bit more time to calm but In end, it did calmed down .
A few minutes passed with me still in bed, but no one came to even knock on the door, I was beginning to think that they might have been hopefully called back or finished their research here or something, but just as I was thinking optimistically like this, I began to hear faint voices talking to one another, there voices seemed to indicate that they were a bit far from the hut, these voices were far but close to the hut .
I listened carefully to what they were talking about, I heard one of these voices say with a commanding tone :
Voice 1 : Do any of you know whose hut is this ? .
Voice 2 : I do, I believe this house belonged to that Tian Long, the only one who refused to accept changed his family name .
Voice 3 : Reporting to master Lu Tu, we searched the surroundings here but found nothing suspicious, the big rock over there seemed to have some cracks, I believe either a battle took place here or someone were practicing Martial Arts .
Voice 4 : Are you stupid, wanting to confuse master Lu Tu with your stupid assumptions, how can a battle took place here, yet the body of Deacon Lu was found on the other side .
Voice 1 : Do any of you know more details about the person staying in that hut ? .
Silence began to engulf all the 4 guys presumedly outside my hut, it seemed that the Master Lu Tu in discuss was the guy sent to these parts to investigate, it also seemed that he didn't believe that the rock being damaged like this had anything to do with the murder, I thought hopefully more and more that I might be able to get away without needing to deal with anyone, but I was wrong .
Voice 3 : Hmph, it's better to try helping if you can and not laze around like someone .
Voice 4 : Alright then, Master Lu, I recall a few special circumstances related to that Tian Long who is staying in this hut, I'm wondering if you like to hear them .
Voice 1 : Stop wasting my time and get on with it .
Just as I was readying myself to celebrate escaping this disaster, I heard the voice of one of the two bickering and my heart suddenly had a bad premonition about this turning of events, both guys were bickering over who was going to contribute the most, uncaring for whether the might plot someone to death with their words .
The Master Lu mentioned, once he heard that there were some unique circumstances related to me, didn't waste much time and answered the guy who was inquiring about to say the things he knew or not coldly, telling him to hurry up and say it, hearing this I understood that it won't end peacefully as I first expected it to .
Voice 4 : It's like this Master Lu .... .
He then began to tell him of everything he heard in the past few days about me being labeled as a thief, being caught by by Deacon Lu, being punished for it, everything that happened to me and the rumors flying around the relationship between both me and the late Deacon being irreconcilable .
Voice 1 : break the door and get this slave here instantly .
Those were the words that came out of that man's mouth after he heard in details about all that happened, from the tone of his voice, I could be imagining it, but I did notice that he seemed a bit pleased for some reason .
The other two or three guys directly went and did as they were told, I raised my head slightly and looked at the front of the door and saw that there were now shadows standing in front of the door, a second later I saw the door of mine suddenly getting broken and the wooden door seemed to be no more .
I acted as if I was suddenly startled by the sudden intrusion into my hut and jumbed off the bed while taking a defensive position and asked what was going on, but it seemed that they weren't here to talk to me, one of them suddenly stretched his hand towards me, wanting to grab my shoulder, but I retreated backwards and asked the same question .
Seeing that the try of their comrades failed, they began to ridicule him for failing to do so and they directly began to swarm me soon after, still having no intention to even talking to me as well, one thing I was able to become certain of, those 3 guys in front of me all were Martial Practitioners and since unlike with Deacon Lu, this time I was able to see their movements clearly, I believe that they were like me .
All of the three guys were in the Flesh Tempering Realm first layer, but I believe that I'm already stronger than them, after all I achieved a miraculous breakthrough by executing the 16 postures that shouldn't have been possible for a not even a beginner at the time to do, so even though it was only one session, my body must be tougher than them at the first layer in the same realm .
It seemed that with the gap between our strength and way of practice being in my favor, their movements were clear to my eyes, so that superiority gave me once again the advantage in being able to read their movements and react to them accordingly .
Come here, you... .
I sidestepped at the berserk like guy who was screaming at me, seeing him passing by me, I could have struck him but decided against it, because even though he should be the one barging into the house, he might still be able to twist things up together with his other friends, these guys were quite easy to deal with surprisingly .
But this didn't mean the same goes for the Master Lu Tu who was waiting outside, that guy must be called a master for a reason, I don't currently want to risk offending him in any way, especially not after I was finally able to get rid of the thorn in my back already .
Not to mention that a fight breaking out here, means that I will be saying goodbye to the humble resident of mine, the hut floor was muddy, but the walls were made of old wood, meaning that a wrong person crashing into it strongly, might brought it all down on my head, I don't want to even know the consequences of me doing that, or how the family will react to this, so better be cautious than sorry .
Just as I sidestepped, the last guy seemed to be a lot more reasonable to talk to, he seeing that both his fellow comrades failed to catch me and seeing me looking around confusedly, unable to comprehend what was going on, he cupped his fist at me and said with a forced smile :
Tian Long, master Lu Tu from the family's law enforcement team here to ask you for a few things, come with us willingly and no one will do anything to you .
Just as he finished saying this, a strong voice came from right behind him inquiring about all the noises and the reason they were late, the moment that guy stepped in the room, I felt all the muscles in my body tense, that feeling was very familiar to me, my Blood Qi once again helped in removing that effect his presence had on me .
I wasn't the only one affected, the other guys were already prostrating themselves on the ground and apologizing for their failure, the guy who was just talking to me also did the same thing without a second thought .
The guy who was currently looking at me with a quirked eyebrow and looking to be a bit surprised was wearing a black like ink robe, he had strong jawline, sharp eyebrows, and a serious expression. His eyes are narrowed, giving him a commanding look, and he has distinct cheekbones, his appearance and current expression all made him look quite the authoritative presence .
But I wasn't surprised by all of that, what surprised me with being reminded again by the law enforcement team uniform, the moment I looked at the black robe he was wearing, I didn't prostrate myself in front of him and only cupped my fist at him and greeted him, saying :
" Slave Tian Long greet Master Lu Tu, I ask you please help me understand what is going on, did I do something wrong ? .
He first looked at me up and down and sneered, but his sneer was aimed at me alone, but at the guys prostrating themselves in front of him as well, their bodies shook and it seemed that the man in front of me wasn't a good person to them, or a good person in general .
With a rough voice he asked his minion :
What was going on here ? .
One of the guys that I evaded earlier replied and said through gritted teeth that I was somewhat uncooperative with them, even after I know that they were here on official business, he hearing them say this, his expression frowned as he took a step towards me, an action that I replied to by having a fearful expression and retreating back a little, he looked at me and said with a smile that looked more like a frown :
Is that true ? .
" Replying to master Lu, that wasn't the case they barged in here suddenly and tried to capture me, I awoken from my sleep decided to fight back thinking that they might be here with a malicious intent or something, I didn't know that they were acting on the senior's orders, I hope you forgive me for that .
He looked at me and the frown on his face was still there,he said :
You have only achieved a breakthrough to the Flesh Tempering Realm and already acting up, if you were to breakthrough to the Organ Quenching Realm, won't you want to rebel then .
For some reason I felt that this guy seemed to be here with ill intentions, he didn't allow me to even talk, he looked at his subordinates and order them to take me the the Law Enforcement Hall, I tried to ask in a hurry, panicking for why was I being escorted there, but then the guy turned his back on me and said in a domineering manner while flicking his robe sleeves :
Search this place and arrest that guy, you are suspected to be involved in the murder of the family Deacon Lu Si, my suspicion is that you helped who did it escape, what, do you think I'm unjust, say it, I will deal with you right this instant, there will not be even a need for you to be sentenced, I will kill you directly and right this instant .
