Chapter 56 - Witnessing the Birth of a Monster

"Scatter! Scatter quickly!"

"Don't clash with him head-on! Get to his sides or behind him!"

Eight consecutive unfortunates being exploded by the terrifying supersonic arrows instantly made the Floor Masters realize how dangerous their situation was. They no longer dared to charge forward mindlessly, instead relying on their Nen abilities to constantly change direction, afraid of suffering the same fate.

Looking at these terrified individuals, Allen sneered and whispered, "You plan to play a guerrilla war with a Hunter? Lupos, give them a taste of their own medicine!"

"Awooooo!!!!"

Accompanied by a shrill howl, the Wolf Alpha instantly covered its entire body with Shadow energy, then split into over a dozen clones also composed of Shadow energy. It immediately activated the Pet ability, Dash, and charged out with lightning speed.

Combined with the Beastial Swiftness talent from the Beast Mastery tree, which increases outdoor movement speed by 30%, it was so fast that it was upon them before they could even react.

The next second...

The three closest Floor Masters were instantly bitten by more than three Shadow Wolves each.

Before they could understand what was happening, the Shadow Wolves immediately exploded, unleashing a terrifying shockwave of Shadow energy.

Boom!

When the black and purple energy burst dissipated, the skin, muscles, and internal organs of the three unfortunates were completely rotted and corrupted. Even the blood flowing from their wounds carried a pungent stench. Although they hadn't died due to the protection of their Nen, they were left clinging to life.

"Red Dragon. Devour them."

Allen, who had completely immersed himself in the role of the Hunter, spoke without an ounce of pity for his enemies, like a cold, precise killing machine.

Just as the Red Dragon materialized again, turning the three Floor Masters into cocoons and swallowing them, a Floor Master wielding a cold, gleaming long blade finally managed to charge into close range, roaring frantically, "Die! You brat! One-Sword Style: Swift Slash!"

"Die? I'm afraid you haven't grasped the situation yet," Allen said, turning his head to reveal an utterly strange smile.

The moment his voice faded…

Bang!

A large mass of white frost instantly covered the ground for over ten meters around. The terrifying sub-zero temperature made it difficult for everyone standing on it to move.

More horrifyingly, beneath the white frost, numerous thick, tough vines grew out, firmly binding the opponent's legs, making it impossible to move.

Undoubtedly, this was a Frost Trap that had triggered the Entrapment ability from the Survival talent tree.

"No! No! No!"

The Floor Master, realizing his legs were completely immobilized, showed a look of sheer panic. He frantically swung the 'Famous Blade' in his hand, trying to hack away at the vines wrapped around his legs to regain his freedom.

Unfortunately, the vines grew extremely fast. No matter how many times he chopped them, they regrew within a second.

"Apologies, but I'm in a bit of a hurry, so I won't be playing this little game of cat and mouse with you..."

Allen raised his hand and made a gentle grasping motion.

Following this, a gigantic golden hand suddenly materialized out of thin air, tightly gripping the Floor Master in its palm and applying terrifying crushing pressure.

K-chak! K-chak! K-chak!

"Aaaarrrghhhhhh!!!!!"

Finally, accompanied by the sound of splintering bones and a final, agonizing death scream, another Floor Master exited the battle sequence.

In the mere five minutes since the battle began, twelve of the seventeen Floor Masters had met a brutal end, transformed into cocoons and swallowed by the Red Dragon.

This terrifying, efficient, brutal, and utterly bloody slaughter deeply shocked every person present.

The war-hungry Hisoka, who had already forgotten the severe beating he'd received not long ago, was constantly licking the cards in his hand. The hand holding the cards was even trembling slightly, uncontrollably, and he occasionally let out a sick, muffled groan.

As for the other onlookers, they maintained a very safe distance, their eyes wide, trying to burn the scene into their memory.

Especially the sight of Allen, bow in hand, shooting deadly arrows, resembled the Grim Reaper harvesting lives.

Every time the bowstring vibrated, it inevitably took the life of a Floor Master.

"M-Master! What exactly am I witnessing?"

Zushi was soaked in sweat, and for the first time, genuine fear surfaced from the deepest parts of his eyes.

He knew that no matter how hard he trained, he could never withstand an arrow imbued with such terrifying multiple Nen abilities.

Likewise, Wing's face showed shock and solemnity. He gently pushed up his glasses and replied in a deeply low voice, "We are witnessing the birth of a monster. That young man... he has already reached a height that Nen users, including myself, might never achieve in a lifetime..."

It was clear that many people present shared this sentiment.

After all, Allen was previously just a Hunter focused primarily on Beast Mastery and secondarily on Marksmanship, and the Nen abilities he imbued into his arrows were relatively simple.

But now, he had invested talent points into all three trees, maxing out the talents in Marksmanship and Survival that increase ranged weapon damage. Coupled with the Nen abilities he had stolen at Heavens Arena and his continuously surging Nen capacity, the power of the Thorium Arrows he fired was incomparable to before.

The remaining five Floor Masters saw the situation was hopeless and immediately abandoned the original plan to surround and kill him, turning to run into the forest behind them.

But before they could run far, Illumi, who was lurking in the dark, finally appeared, instantly cutting off two of them.

Hisoka, unable to contain his inner frenzy, blocked another two, smiling bloodthirstily as he said, "Hmhm Running away is quite naughty"

As for the last one, he was cornered between Lupos and Bodoro.

Seeing that the battle was essentially over, Allen recalled his animal companion and asked the Martial Artist, who was intently staring down his opponent, "Can you handle this one?"

"Of course! I will use this fight to prove to you that I'm not useless baggage!"

With that, Bodoro plunged his hands into the inconspicuous small brown leather pouch at his waist and pulled out two massive shields, each printed on the front with a white skull that continuously spewed flames from its mouth.

Undoubtedly, these were the Skullflame Shields, notoriously nicknamed the "Raid Wipe Shield" by players in the game, and the only Epic-grade shield available before entering proper raids.

Its greatest features, besides its very high Armor value, were minor Fire and Shadow Resistance, and a chance to reflect Fire damage back at nearby enemies upon being struck, while also draining a small amount of health from the attacker.

Through consistent clearing of the "Big Three" dungeons, Allen had unknowingly acquired a pair and recently gifted them to the Martial Artist, who had just developed a new ability.

The small brown leather pouch Bodoro wore was a retired 14-slot Runecloth Bag, specifically used to hold the two shields and other tools that were inconvenient to carry openly.

After all, constantly walking around the bustling, modern city streets carrying two bizarrely-shaped shields was too conspicuous.

When Bodoro wrapped his Enhancement Nen around the two shields, their surfaces instantly reflected a dazzling golden light. Even the protruding bone spikes along the edges became remarkably sharp and menacing.

After completing all of this, he violently clanged the two shields together, then charged forward with a sudden burst of speed, smashing them down onto the Floor Master's head.
