Leonardo's POV
Beg her to help me up? Is she really that heartless?
I nearly wanted to throttle Veronica right then and there.
"Veronica, you keep claiming you'll take care of me, but all you do is torture me. Tell me, who the hell sent you here? Are you trying to finish me off?"
Even with blood dripping down my arm, I refused to grovel. My pride wouldn't let me.
"I wasn't planning on it, but now you're giving me ideas," Veronica replied, her tone ice-cold. She clearly thought I needed to be knocked down a peg. Why should she go easy on me when I kept pushing her buttons?
After making her point, Veronica finally hauled me upright, got me cleaned up, and scrubbed me down.
Once she finished her rough handling, she wheeled me out of the bathroom.
She grabbed the medical kit and started working on the gash in my arm.
