Veronica's POV
After we parked outside the psychiatric hospital in Aurelia City's western suburbs, Ryan passed me a bundle of clothing. "I've done my homework, Veronica. There's a team of psychiatric experts scheduled to inspect this place, but they haven't shown up yet. We can use this window."
I unfolded what turned out to be a crisp white lab coat. "Can't we just walk in and ask to see Hunter?"
"Not happening," Ryan shook his head. "The guy has zero family and refuses all visitors. Getting to him any other way is nearly impossible."
"Got it."
So we went with Ryan's intel on the expert team and pulled off our masquerade.
Ryan morphed into the team leader—some specialist called Cooper Morrow. He slapped on a fake beard, wig, and glasses, becoming a dead ringer for the real deal.
I played his assistant, complete with blue contacts and a blonde wig that made me unrecognizable.
Once we'd transformed ourselves, we strolled into the psychiatric facility together.
